FAKE NEWS: How the NZ mainstream media are to blame for the false meth contamination story

How can Phil Twyford using a phone on a flight be a bigger story than the $100m contamination scam? Because the mainstream media were part of selling that hysteria and did Paula Bennett’s work by distracting middle NZ while the National Party were privatizing state houses – shame on you!

This fake news contamination story will quietly fade just like Dirty Politics did because in both cases, the mainstream corporate media enabled both issues and will do everything to quietly ignore their responsibility in creating it.

Cameron Slater would never had had the power he did, if the corporate mainstream media hadn’t enabled him, likewise, this meth hysteria wouldn’t have pointlessly cost us $100m and destroyed hundreds of state tenant lives if they hadn’t mindlessly parroted whatever garbage Paula Bennett fed them.

I must pause in my denouncement of our worthless mainstream media by acknowledging the rare journalists who did challenge this bullshit. John Campbell and Lisa Owen were the only journalists brave enough to swim against the current here, but the person who deserves most of our praise and whose work John and Lisa borrowed heavily from was Russell Brown at Public Address.

His tenacious work to keep dragging the debate back to the science is the reason this facade has finally come tumbling down. He was the first amongst us to keep demanding to know where the actual science was in terms of contamination. I argued at how outrageous the ban on state tenants for 12 months from any state house was based on the fact you couldn’t pin point who had been smoking the P, but it was Russell who deserves our deepest gratitude for doing the hard research that proved there was no actual scientific basis for this moral panic.

So remind me again – where the fuck was our media and supposedly brilliant journalists when this meth hysteria was being pumped by National? Oh that’s right, they were jumping into the hysteria for click bait…

…right now the mainstream media, rather than acknowledging their own role in this hysteria are busy promoting the lies, half truths and spin of the Australian PR firm, Clout, who acts on behalf of the Australian meth testers.

They are seriously trying to claim that Gluckman is politically biased so as to allow the 240 state houses that were needlessly left vacant to be used again. The pure madness of their conspiracy shows the level of delusion they think the NZ public will buy and the corporate mainstream media who are promoting this bullshit are now only adding insult to injury.

State Tenants were thrown onto the streets and had kids taken from them you maggots, and you fed that spite. To now be used as mouthpieces for Australian PR vultures is despicable.

Every NZ media outlet who this morning don’t lead with the $100m meth contamination scam but were busy feeding it for Paula Bennett at the height of the hysteria should all be ashamed of themselves – you aren’t journalists, you are fucking pimps!
