  1. I was on the land march in 1975,some 50 years ago so have heard these “debates” a 1000 times.
Usually they go absolutely nowhere, provide a bit of passion drama and of course conflict
which is good for ratings but rarely inform and almost never change any ones opinion in fact
more often than not they just serve to reinforce previously held opinion.
Clearly if we still need these debates it proves the Whites are doing the winning.
So I have little confidence the Maori will win this “debate”
I believe the ” debate” propaganda opportunity should have been held at a Marae.
Stealmore having the debate in a White forum is a big win off the bat for him.
Stealmore must be super confident of winning otherwise why risk it?
Unless he believes he has already won enough support to retain his seat at the next election
and its time to make out he is this open minded even handed politician.
He will have his safe zones and parameters his answers to expected questions ready.
The trick is to ask unexpected questions.
But does the Maori challenge have the nous to set, direct control and maintain narratives?
I wish I could say yes.
I hope Seymour is constantly challenged to present all his answers in Te Reo
because he cannot speak Te Reo and the Maori side must expose this weakness repeatedly.
The Maori must constantly refer to “invasion” “war crimes” “conquest” “theft ” “subjugation”.
Repeat these words a million times if necessary.
People remember simple words and phrases.
Make Seymour defend the invasion of the Waikato and the invasion of the Taranaki.
Demand to know why none of the invaders ,George Grey ,Prime Ministers of both New Zealand and Britain ,Queen Victoria, the Pope the, land grabbers have never been tried in a court of law.
Emphasise over and over again that the Treaty claims process only ever required the
Whites to pay back 1% of what they stole.
Just keep saying 1% paid 99% owing.
Stealmore surely knows what he is doing.
Stealmore is not going to risk ACT and most importantly his entire credibility on one debate.
Does the Maori challenge know what they are doing?
    Probably not
I sense a nil all draw
