  1. Exactly the plastic has be stopped at source by either government ban or huge tax on the producer of it, like cigarettes.

I’m sure if every time a producer or seller puts a slice of cheese in plastic for example or a cabbage in plastic at a supermarkets and it costs the PRODUCER 10 cents as a tax, or a toy from China is made for 1 cent and exported everywhere or new whitewall packed in polystyrene, the manufacturers will quickly change their packaging to wood or eco based packaging and use less of it.

Plastics need to be taxed for their harm when they go into landfill and oceans daily and then society can concentrate on getting rid of existing plastic without increasing plastic amounts at alarmingly daily levels and those who do social harm continue to profit from it with zero effort by governments to stop them, in fact encourage it by taxing consumers and concentrating of them not the sources….

  2. As a person with long-time eye/vision problems, everything I need for eye hygiene/health is contained in plastic. Some I can put into the recycle bin; too much I have to put out for rubbish collection. Can’t possibly “win”.
