Holocaust Centre urges Immigration NZ to ‘carefully consider’ visa application from Candace Owens
A visit to New Zealand by controversial, right-wing US broadcaster Candace Owens has angered some people, prompting calls for her visa application to be denied.
Owens, who has over 18 million followers on social media, is a far-right activist with a history of making controversial claims, including doubting the holocaust was real. She has also been accused of being anti-Semitic and homophobic.
Owens is due to give a speech in Auckland in November, followed by speeches in major Australian cities, and some politicians and Jewish groups in Australia are reportedly trying to have her stopped from entering that country.

WASHINGTON — YouTube says the channels of a far-right Canadian influencer have been removed after U.S. officials alleged the companyshe co-founded received US$760,000 in fees and commissions as part of an alleged Russian ploy to dupe right-wing influencers into sowing division among Americans.
An indictment filed Wednesday charged two employees of RT, a Russian state-controlled media outlet, in a US$10-million scheme that purportedly used social media personalities to distribute content with Russian government messaging.
While not explicitly mentioned in court documents, the details match up with Tenet Media, founded by Canadian Lauren Chen and Liam Donovan, who identifies as her husband on social media.
Candace of course should be allowed to speak in NZ and NZers who find her vile hate grift offensive should be free to protest her, but we should also known she is stained by association to a Russian disinformation and misinformation network, and it is that disinformation and misinformation that Hobson’s Pledge was selling in their advert that deserved challenge.
The Right apologists have screamed ‘what about the CTU advert’.
What about it? The CTU advert turned out to be completely true and their point in buying that advert was to inject some real facts into the election debate.
Hobson’s Pledge on the other hand is a shonky race baiting grift that pretends a Pom who was in the country for 5 days before the signing of the Treaty apparently stuttered ‘We are all one people’ as he signed it which Hobson’s Pledge has extrapolated means Māori ceded sovereignty AND they insinuated that ‘da Maaaaaaris is stealing da beaches’ with their bullshit public ownership advert…
…that’s the difference!
The CTU was captaining on facts, Hobson’s Pledge is trading on disinformation and misinformation.
PS – Has anyone else found that those Right Wing Free Speech Champions in NZ turn out to be the biggest users of defamation threats to gag any criticism of them?

If this is the Old Testament God that orders the destruction of whole nations as abominations she/he is definitely backing the wrong horse.
I wouldn’t worry if I were Owens – the “Holocaust Centre” and the “Jewish groups” mentioned above (no doubt the only people who are “angered” by Owens’ proposed visit) sound very much like organised Jewish groups to me, and organised Jewry is just a far-right antisemitic conspiracy theory, so it follows that the organised Jewish opposition to Owens doesn’t exist.
I would have discharged her and given her a massive gold medal .We dont need people coming here telling us how to live we have enough cunts in the current government doing so already
Candace Owens should be sent a “too soon, try again later” letter. Seeing how NZ has no official problem with Israel, why would we host people we know are actively hostile to our friends? Alternatively she could give an assurance she’s just here to have ice cream at Mission Bay, and not give any public talks. In the internet age, it isn’t like she’s gagged, so nothing to do with free speech. If she posts from here, maybe she should read up on our laws before arriving. This solution keeps most people happily grumbling into their soup, and eliminates another clown show of our justice system should anything go predictably wrong.
