    1. Overdoing the paternal condescension a bit aren’t we? That comment was less than necessary, or useful to anything but your own ego… Nothing personal, but since being back in this country just before lockdown, I’ve been appalled at the juvenile level of political “debate” here… I’m no longer surprised NZ has elected itself a wishy washy imitation of a labour party to replace what was a blatant emptying out of all of our birthrights by an illegitimate, and illegal administration… Nothing I’ve read on here, and other “news & opinion blogs/news agencies” has given me any confidence that there will ever be a rebalancing, let alone a recovery… Now is not the time for being self absorbed.. The article points up a fundamental reality.. We have almost limitless opportunity to create whole new industries at this time.. It won’t happen if all we do is sit on our hands and whine about how unfair everything is…

  1. What is that old saying…? Ah yes “If life hands you lemons, make lemonade”… The opportunities are staring us in the face… Maybe a bit of research into home grown cottage industries that became world leaders and publishing the results, could put a fire under those who have the ideas, and desire, but aren’t able to see a way to bring it about.. I know the government is quietly putting considerable amount of money towards just that sort of enterprise, so your attempt at optimism may not have been wasted.. I certainly hope not..

  2. I was originally going to write “Lets only hope…”, but… now I think “Why not?”.

    Thanks Liz.
