  1. Yes and quite right,… this is a nation preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. The pragmatic approach is to prepare NOW.

Ignoring the ridiculous pleas of ”XENOPHOBIA !!” , ”RACISM !!!”

No. Simply a nation taking some very , very wise precautions.

Isolation techniques, quarantines, screening and the like are standard operating procedures in a threatening global pandemic. And this is what we need to be doing now. Never mind the politicization’s of the ‘some’, – we are interested in the many. If they want to risk their own or their family’s health for those political ideals,… well good luck to them and I hope they come through…yet they will never be turned away from adequate medical care in this country. That’s just not how we roll.

But until then, and until a working vaccine is developed to combat this thing, we need to return to the basics, which are isolation , quarantines and screening.

It is just good common sense.

  2. Respectfully yours BB. But is MSM, and alt media hyping this? Not to discount the seriousness. Does the public trust anything the media says?
Folks are confused and depressed. Where is the honest broker? Vote for ME 2020!

  3. Maybe the people in Iran died from US sanctions? Also who were the four doctors who supposedly leaked this information about the common cold deaths? They are anonymous unlike the sweaty and sickly looking Pompeo who is publicly demanding Iran look after it’s people. The shills over at Bloomberg news are suggesting that WHO should send in a team to monitor disease control, that “Iran’s wilful mismanagement of the crisis can no longer be overlooked” and “Iran can’t be trusted to deal with coronavirus” (Ghosh, 2020). De Luce (2020) at NBC wonders whether “this episode raised questions about how Iran is managing the crisis and whether officials are failing to disclose information to the public”. Suddenly the US is the moral voice on protecting human life, information disclosure and transparency.

0.0002% of the Chinese population have died from this disease (really a good enough sample to extrapolate to the world as a model for potential spread) while with 26 deaths, only 0.00003% of the Iranian population has succumbed (10 times less per capita). I would rather live in Iran.

  4. A sobering and compelling article from China’s greatest living author about the how Chinese Communist Party has chosen its own survival over its citizens and rest of the human race:

I’m so delighted New Zealand’s shameless political class and their greedy big and agro-business mates have allowed our country to become beholden to these rapacious murderous dictators.

  5. Hey I hear Lotto has jack potted to $50m apparently.
Might be enough time to build an hermetically sealed bolt hole to lay low in, and then take it all with me when I pop my clogs. I reckon I can probably get Uber Eats to deliver too for a bargain
Gee, aren’t they gonna look silly

  6. Coronavirus cases soar in Italy as authorities scramble to find patient zero

“Rome (CNN)Italian authorities have announced sweeping closures in the country’s north as they scramble to contain Europe’s biggest outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

Italy’s confirmed cases surged from three on Friday morning to more than 200 by Monday.
The majority of coronavirus infections are concentrated in mainland China (with more than 77,100 cases), followed by Japan (840) and South Korea (833). Italy’s spike now marks the biggest outbreak outside of Asia.”
