Dramatic overhaul of Whānau Ora contracts includes John Tamihere-led agency
- The three original Whānau Ora commissioning agencies have lost their contracts in a tender process, including the John Tamihere-led North Island agency.
- Four new agencies will take over in July, and Ngāti Paoa and Ngāi Tahu have confirmed they are among the successful bidders.
- Some Whānau Ora leaders say successful services are being “dismantled” with little explanation.
…what you are not being told by the mainstream media is that the faction who made the allegations against the Manurewa Marae, Māori Party and Waiperea Trust corruption allegations are a Destiny Church faction.
The questions that are not being asked are:
- Why have these Destiny factions been so tactical in seeking leadership roles on South Auckland Marae?
- Who is helping them?
- Is there anyone else supporting these extremists?
- Are there bigger influences at work as well?
I think there was another entity behind the Destiny Faction and they want to use this Destiny Faction to strengthen their claim to take the whanau ora contracts from Waipareira Trust.
Look to see who gets the funding, and then look for any links between that Māori organisation and the Destiny Church faction who made the allegations of corruption.

Well, firstly who is the faction and how do you know all this. Certainly seems very fishy goings on and Waiparea Trust been going through a tough time. Why? Who in power hates them so much? The whole business stinks.
A case of follow the money to follow? This one will run and run. . .
This is some ugly political manoeuvring from an increasingly desperate government who has fallen so out of favour with most Māori that they are down to the old divide and rule tactic. Pit Māori organisations against each other, try and take out Te Pāti Māori while they’re at it, and lob grenades into that powerful display of Māori unity that is an existential threat to this government. Hopefully it will backfire like everything else they’ve tried.
