  1. National is also on the same side as the unions in asking for staff to receive 100% of wages paid direct which will win favour from another group of those on the fence re their vote. Those effected by the debacle re the house market could be ripe for the picking as Labour is seen to do nothing and make the situation worse. The covid card will not be worth playing as we see the message getting more confusing . If Robinson ignores the benefituries in the next budget baring in mind the government has more money in it coffers than they could have hoped for 6 months ago could lead to another group being lost to another party.

  2. In the USA the major cancel culture group is the GOP – as they seek to suppress the urban vote.

    1. Cancel culture is real, and trying to redefine it as any political thing that you don’t like does no one any favours.
It is best defined as targeting of private individuals and/or censorship by elites in the name of social justice.

Debates over election rules is not cancel culture, that’s normal politics.
Criticising MPs for things they say is not cancel culture.

Censoring Dr Seuss is cancel culture.
Preventing Don Brash from speaking at Massey is cancel culture.
Trying to get JK Rowling’s books cancelled is cancel culture.
Firing Michael Bassett was cancel culture.

Aren’t you glad you came here and learned the difference?

Class leftism is better than social justice not only because a homeless straight white men really is more oppressed than e.g. an elite Maori lesbian, but also because its apetite for cancel culture is lower.

      1. In what world is suppressing the vote of the urban minority poor just normal politics?

      2. And who is more likely to be discriminated against in housing, a white man or a Maori lesbian?
