Deconstructing Headlines

Simon Bridges secretly meets with oil interests to ram through a new law prosecuting deep sea oil activists and misleads Parliament about that meeting,  all the while his very agency who is pushing through that law change is committing unethical spying actions against Greenpeace, the Green Party, the MANA Movement and local Iwi protesting possible oil pollution.

Yet Simon Bridges knew nothing about that spying? 

How believable is it that Bridges becomes suddenly so ignorant when it comes to the day to day applications of those civil rights abuses?

National’s hypocrisy as is galling as their opportunism. 

We know the other departments were spying on Iwi protesting oil companies, earthquake survivors, sexual abuse survivors, beneficiaries, MANA, the Green Party and Greenpeace.

Yet Immigration NZ and MBIE would have us believe they were the only ones using deceptive illegal spying ethically?

While the children of the white middle classes are being looked after with Kiwibuild, the poor continue to rot on the streets…

With many New Conservatives also being fundamental Christians with literal interpretations of the bible, I’m waiting for their school curriculum policy to demand the teaching of Nazis riding dinosaurs…

As the New Conservative Party starts to build a migrant backlash, we are going to have to have a serious discussion about immigration in NZ. It won’t just be the weaponised political xenophobia that demands this, the exploitation of free market capitalism demands it and most concerning, climate change will demand it.
