ANZAC Day – Lest we remember
The glorious war dead lie cold in the ground and must weep at our militarism and how their sacrifices have been twisted into continued justification for violence.

The Greens running in the Northcote by-election is as counter productive as Clarke Gayford asking Deborah Hill Cone for a character reference.
The Herald have had the audacity to pick up on their own columnists smear job on Clarke with an unnamed ‘story’ covering the outrage they created.
Clickbait using clickbait.
There is a belief amongst some on the Left that our comrades inside the Government are so over whelmed by the enormity of the job and are being so expertly manipulated by the Public Services that there will be only shallow promises an no real policy change.
I’ve grown to like Deborah Hill Cone. The neurotic insightfulness of privilege after two bottles of white wine on a Wednesday in Devonport mixed with prescription drugs never sounded so self assured.
There are times she soars with enlightenment, cheers with genuine humour and preaches with conviction.
This hate column attacking Clarke Gayford however, sure as fuck isn’t one of them.
If students want to keep their libraries and reject the hollowness of neoliberal culture myths, they must fight to bring back Universal Student Membership.
Opponents of Trump like to point to the Russian interference in the election to explain Trump winning, but I think blaming Russia for ‘hacking’ the US Election is deeply counter productive.
It’s fair to compare Jacinda to Trump in that they are part of the same species, breath oxygen and both have two legs and two arms.
The similarities end there.
Tova is of course free to take the lines of inquiry she wants, she is the Political Editor of a main News Network, it is utterly her prerogative, but the results seem to be cheap headline gotcha’s rather than meaningful comment.
Good week for the Left, good week for NZ.
