  1. I am sure cannabis and cannabis products will be legalised and soon. However, I am also sure it will be kept in the hands of Big Pharma and will be something else unaffordable for the people who need it.

  2. The problem is that after a yes vote to both questions (the right approach) proposed here, all government might do afterwards is decriminalise or legalise possession of amounts for personal use.

In any other area, this would be sen as pandering to established economic interests – those currently illegally growing and supplying the product.

The issue is mandate for people to either grow their own or access supply from a licensed retailer/seller.

The legislative aftermath, is in how much can be grown for personal use, and who is licensed to grow for supply to others, and then retail arrangements (ID, drug education, rationing levels of supply for younger users).

  3. My apologies for being unable to attend the conference, due to being in China 😉 Glad to hear it went well. If there’s anything I can do remotely to support the Yes campaign, anything that can be done over the net for example, please do let me know.

Totally agree about the two part question. It allows us a chance at going full Canada in one step, without giving up the chance for personal use decriminalization if the majority aren’t quite ready for legal dispensaries yet. Would be great to present some potential wordings, with minimal wiggle room, and even model legislation that could be passed in the case of a yes/no, or a yes/yes (perhaps based on the Drug Foundation’s work in that area). Let’s make the most of the bone we’ve been thrown here!
