Can Harris’s Childless Cat Ladies of America beat Trump’s United States of Wounded Masculinity?
The debate last week was important.
It showed that decency, compassion, empathy and intelligence could overwhelm and beat Trump’s wounded masculinity in a debate.
Palestinians get nothing more than Blue Genocide or Red Genocide, but for most Democrats that’s an acceptable price to keep Trump out of power which ironically could cost Harris the election, because while she easily beat this Orange Nazi in last weeks debate, she still faces an uphill battle to beat Trump at the election.
This election has stopped being about reaching across the political divide for voters and is now focused on turn out.
Trump doubled down with Vance because he wants to turn out every white male vote while appealing to those Hispanic and Black voters alienated by the extremes of the culture wars.
Trump understands resentment better than any politician since Hitler, and he plays to the working classes resentment of being left behind by Capitalism while handing corporations enormous tax cuts.
The election will be so close and down to the margins and this is why that is dangerous for Harris.
Hillary Clinton lost to Trump when the 3rd Party Candidates collectively hit 3%, this time around though, the Democrats refusal to rein in Israel’s real time ethnic cleaning war crime has empowered the candidacies of the Green Party’s Jill Stein and independent Cornel West.
When the election will be this close, those 3rd Party Candidates will come into play and that hurts Harris more than it hurts Trump.
The irony that Harris loses to Trump because of Gaza should be lost on no one.
If Trump wins, the American Midnight begins.

Biden was clearly too old and displaying cognitive decline and Trump is not that far behind him. The fact that he was played like a banjo ( the duelling kind that all his inbred supporters admire) shows he has no business being President. Even the Fox News types were mortified that he couldn’t stay remotely close to what should have been his strengths. I don’t think I have seen such a display of insecurity. Deal maker my arse.
Last year Biden donated $500 from every man women and child in America to the MIC to kill people in Ukraine and Gaza. Trump is actually antiwar, not a democracy spreader and could stand up to the MIC. On the other hand there is no way Harris is ever going to ‘just say no’ to more MIC war. Americans have a choice worse or worser.
Why is he anti war? He doesn’t support the money for Ukraine. He was aggressive towards China, and it don’t recall him getting out of Afghanistan, despite the rhetoric.
What a complete and utter misread of the state of the American election. According to all the polls, including the most right wing of polls, Harris is ahead in every single battleground state by between 3 and 8 points. There is even polling suggesting that Texas and Florida might swing Democrat. The Congress polls show that the Democrats could gain a two thirds majority, with at least 59% certain. The Senate race is more interesting, because only half are up for reelection. Here the polls are split, with some showing a whitewash for the Democrats and others showing only a few changing hands. Much more interesting is the gubernatorial races for state governorships, where most Republican governors will struggle to hold office and about a third of them will definitely swing.
These most recent polls show a continuation of the trends apparent 18 months ago.
In summary, Trump is going to lose, and lose big. Congress will go Democrat and probably the Senate as well.
In ten years time, history will record the decade from 2015 to 2025 as the period of stupidity, when Americans flirted with dictatorship, but came to their senses.
As far as the Palestinian cause having an effect, nope, not one iota among ordinary Americans. They know full well their country is in trouble, and that needs fixing first.
So we hope.
Small D democracy in the USA needs serious reform, from SCOTUS, the filibuster, through to gerrymandering and the Electoral College.
There is not even a chance that will happen without the Democrat trifecta of the Presidency, House and Senate, but even then, it confronts the yanks irrational belief in their exceptionalism and their religious devotion to the perceived perfection of their founding documents. I doubt the Democrats have the fortitude to drive ahead with the task required.

I’ll call it for Trump – just because the betting odds favour him. The longer Harris hides from the press, the more people will be (rightly) suspicious of her.
Trump was really weak in that debate. He let Biden hang himself by saying nothing, and was hoping the same would be true of Kamala (who always comes across as a clueless airhead in most interviews). He underestimated her, and she capitalised on it. We’ll see if it translates into actual polls soon enough.

“Trump is actually antiwar….” no he is not, he’s the US president that told Kim Jong Un if he were to do anything stupid he would push the button and destroy North Korea with quote “fire and fury like the world has never seen….” Trump also enabled the Israelis and the Sunni Arab states to fight back against Iran. That Trump is anti war is a myth and just plain false.
