  1. “ensure the safety & respect of all the women”…because, you know, its a boat with only women aboard. This being a ‘Woman’s Boat’. An action designed to draw particular attention to the plight of women in Gaza.
I can’t see any indication that they are demanding ‘more respect’ for women at the expense of the men of Gaza.

Maybe the article could refer to ‘the crew’, that would be possibly less emotive for some.

  3. Wrong email address.

It is ‘M.McCully@ministers.govt.nz with an s in ministers. . .

Is someone trying to con people here. . .

  4. This is disgraceful and some of the comments on here by rwnj pricks are disgraceful too.

  5. The blockade was deemed legal by the UN. Nothing illegal here other than typical grandstanding.

    1. Do you also acknowledge that the Israeli settlements on the West Bank are illegal?

And should Israel abide by UN Resolution 242?

Os is this more selectivity from Israel’s right-wing supporters?

  6. According to John Key, Marama Davidson’s involvement is “less than a perfect look”! Perception and image is Key’s way.

As he is kith and kin of the oppressing nation here, of course condemnation of their action will not be forthcoming anytime soon from Key or his government!

Well done to Marama and the women aboard this boat. The thwarting of their intention of helping those in need in Gaza by Israel, yet again determines Israel as an aggressive state.

  7. What an utterly pathetic and irresponsible response from the pm:

“The Prime Minister said it’s a “less than perfect” look for a New Zealand MP to have tried to enter Gaza, when the official advice was clearly against such action.”

Its a “less than perfect look” when we have a weak-kneed, grovelling, unprincipled pm who wouldn’t get off his ass to do ANYTHING as a matter of principle. Especially, if it might get him offside with his HEROES the USA (Also known as “the extended United States of Israel”).

What a total fuckwit. Wouldn’t know a humane, principled MP if he fell over one.

  8. I see that local resident right-wing nutjobs are out in force, supporting their Israeli govt masters. They think they are being witty, but come across as feckless smart-arses.
