  1. Having a high staff turn over loses a bit of quality but thats a mute pointwhen it supresses wages and the burgers are cooked to a formula.

But nobody ever questions how you can sell tomatoes out of season, if they did, we’d be hard against below average instead of average wage

  2. Jeez. It’s not even a pub and they’re having fights in there. It’s a fast food restaurant for christ’s sake.

  3. In regards to the managers.
After 6 years working at Queen Street McDonalds, including time with Mark Thomas as store manager (ha!), I can say working in fast food is always a case of survival of the fittest.
Management and half the staff seem to take some sort of perverse pleasure in ‘suffering’ for the benefit of the company. It then comes as a massive blow when the company turns around and fires them for ‘stealing’ a cup of coffee or clocking in 5 minutes early….this manager, if he somehow avoids an assault charge, will sooner or latter get shafted by the company…..

Kudos to these staff and this young woman for standing up for their rights.
And if the Labour Party are the Broad Church Party…well here’s a good chance to stand united with the working poor of New Zealand.
