  1. Ai, yi, yi! Poor penis piano player, Zelensky the yid, losing the attention to his cousins in Israel. Ai yi yi!

    1. Bigoted antisemitic comments should not be tolerated. Especially if they are designed to mock the target of these racist insults to justify a bloody slaughter.

  2. Based on the repeated lie that the war in Ukraine began when Russia crossed its borders in 2022, this load of tosh studiously ignores the facts and is unadulterated propaganda from start to finish.

    1. Malcolm Evans: My bloodthirsty imperialist wears a white hat, your blood thirsty imperialist wears a black hat.

      1. Seems like you’ve become a little more balanced in your view of the conflict, Pat. Both US and Russia have a “natural” interest in Ukraine; it just depends what actions you believe are legit to decide where this conflict began. Was it the long seeded subversion of Ukraine by the “good guy” CIA and US, or when Russia began to push back?

        1. You are so full of shit. Other than being an opportunity to give the Russian Federation a bloody nose, an opportunity they were handed by the people of Ukraine, the US has no interest in Ukraine.

On the outbreak of the full scale invasion the US closed their embassy in Kyiv and made a run for it, offering Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky a seat on their departing plane.
Zelensky famously said we don’t need a lift we need ammunition, indicating that Ukraine would make a fight of it. Something both the Russian and US imperialists weren’t expecting.
Now that the US have turned their attention to defending their Pro-US settler colony in the Middle East, Ukraine faces the very real possibility of being abandoned by the US.

    2. Making weird blanket statements without any actual proofs or evidence to back it suits when drawing a cartoon I suppose, but doesn’t cut it in political debate.

“Based on the repeated lie that the war in Ukraine began when Russia crossed its borders in 2022” Malcolm Evans

      What, “repeated lie”?
      Who ever claimed that?
The war started in 2014, after Russia’s corrupt puppet president was ousted in a popular revolution after he ordered berkut paramilitary thugs to fire on protesters. And Russia couldn’t stand the result so invaded and seized the Crimean Peninsula and armed far right separatist rebels in the Donbas to overthrow the Ukraine authorities.

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casualties_of_the_Russo-Ukrainian_War#

The protests were sparked by President Viktor Yanukovych’s sudden decision not to sign the European Union–Ukraine Association Agreement, instead choosing closer ties to Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union.

Several times I have challenged you to back up your claims, or supply us your sources for making them, so that we can check them out. But that’s not your style. Instead drop in some unsubstantiated balloon comment then disappear.

      1. Pat quotes Wikipedia… Wake up Pat, if you don’t understand how “controlled” that is there is no hope. A career beckons for you as a “fact checker”.

  3. ‘Don’t talk about the war’ Basil Fawlty

Don’t talk about the war in Gaza and the isolation of the US, feeding into of Putin’s increased confidence.
Omit totally the fact that the dispute over funding for Ukraine as well as being about funding border control is also about increasing military aid for Israel’s war in Gaza.

    https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/11/8/why-are-us-republicans-pushing-for-aid-to-israel-but-not-ukraine

Don’t mention the fact that the US is isolated in the General Assembly and the Security Council where even Britain America’s closest ally could not bring itself to vote with US and only managed an abstention. Nobody likes to vote for genocide. Only the US has an invested interest in supporting Israel as America’s racist colonist unsinkable aircraft carrier in the Middle East, useful as a stick to beat any Middle Eastern country that defies America’s might. Deliberately avoid mentioning that the US as the only imperialist power supporting the Genocide in Gaza, has strengthened Russia’s war machine, both morally and materially. Ignore totally the isolation of the US in the United Nations over America using its veto to prevent a humanitarian ceasefire and stop the genocide in Gaza.
Don’t mention Putin’s triumphant tour of the Middle East where he was welcomed by Arab leaders across the region, despite having an international arrest warrant on his head.
Demand Russia obey the so called International rules based order Ignore that the US has torn the International Rule based order up for shit paper when it comes to Israel.

  4. “Russia’s invasion poses a threat to both the US, and the world. If Putin is successful using force to take what he wants, his success empowers other authoritarian rulers to use military power trampling over international law. ”

Meh. The US has repeatedly done this. Be it Vietnam, Iraq, Libya, Korea, Yugoslavia or Syria (to name a few). The difference is your own prejudice that you don’t trust the Russki’s like you do the Yanks to withdraw once their military operations are achieved (and assume they will march across Europe because CNN told you so). Russia did pull out of Georgia after invading them in 2008 – and a lot quicker than the US did in any the other US wars mentioned above.

    1. They, including Ben, didn’t do any stress tests. Instead widget A is shiner than what’s it B. But that doesn’t automatically mean that A beats C. Namely winter. I mean come on Ben you’ve seen all the winterisation that goes into it on top of the specialisation in ideal conditions. Why on earth would we train Ukraine to fight like America. Why!!! Ukraine doesn’t have western production never will. Should have out quadrants on a map, blown the shit out of them one by one and put a red dot in its place Russian style. But oh know, rules of engagement, U.N charter. PR, spin. Blah blah blah. Now the yanks have the perfect excuse to wash there hands of the whole thing, gronks.

  5. Ukraine has maintained the tension across three fronts, with the addition of sabotage and deep strike missions.

Russia has revived the meat wave attack system that led the US to develop the claymore mine.

There is no good exit for Russia, and none at all for Ukraine. The invaders will fall in place until Russia can no longer recruit.

    1. What f***ing meat wave attack system Stuart?

It only exists in the columns of NYT and WAPO propagandists and the turkeys who believe them.

  6. 661 days into Putin’s 7 day Special Military Operation. 661 days of brave Ukrainians defending themselves from the Russian criminal army of murders, rapists, sadists, thieves, drunks and druggies.
661 days of needless killing for one man’s ego and greed.
However, as one Ukrainian soldier put it.
“Fortunately we have plenty of land to bury the Russians in.”

    1. Bruce, change it to Goose, more appropriate. I like Moose, I prefer to think that they are far cleverer and better informed than you.

  7. Thanks for the commentary Ben.

I wouldn’t dismiss America’s internal wrangling as mere horse trading. The influx of illegals across the US southern border (now over 8 million, that they know of) poses an existential threat to the US. The point of view of many Americans is: Why should we pay to defend an illegal invasion of Ukraine when we’re not addressing our own?
The clear intent of the Democrats is to swamp the country with illegals because:
    1. Some of their backers want an endless supply of cheap labour with no worker’s rights.
    2. The Democrats will give them IDs to vote, thereby stealing another election.
    3. The globalist billionaires want to undermine nation states and gain global control through supranational unelected bodies.

    1. I’m just stating the facts, Francesca.
It’s mostly not reported by our local media here but Democrat mayors across the US are in a state of panic because of the influx of illegals. New York in particular has been swamped, overwhelming government resources and causing much friction in the black community. This is Biden’s border policy coming home to roost and impacting his own base.

      1. I was referring to the old “stolen election “theme
Mind you, I was a bit perplexed myself when it seemed all the postal votes were 100% for Biden .Didnt seem quite right.

  8. “Ben”s column has been a shameful pro US Imperialist addition to The Daily Blog. The yanks still blockade the small state of Cuba and surround various other places with bases and surveillance–they have two huge aircraft carriers off the beach at Gaza! to make sure no aid gets through.

  9. Agree that a column that supports neocon adventurism is an abomination.

On aircraft carriers I read a US military man debunk carrier task force capabilities. In the 1980s the US retrenched fleet supply auxiliary ships that could keep task forces supplied at sea. Logistical supplies got stockpiled at friendly ports and bases. Here’s the Red Sea versus Houthi scenario. Each missile defense boat defending a carrier might have say 80 anti missile /aircraft / drone missiles. The Houthi attack with 80 drones or missiles, all shot down, 81rst will get through. Consequently fleet withdraws to port to replenish missiles. It can no longer be replenished by the now scrapped fleet auxiliary. Mission failure results.

The US is taking a big risk parking carriers off of Gaza. Any hypersonic will get through.
