  1. The National Party just cannot help itself can it? A National Youth dipstick playing amateur rat fucker. At least it was so much more professional when it was run out of John Keys prime ministerial office!

And I suspect Browns support lays in the over 70’s angry ZB listener demographics. Give it bone Wayne, pack it in dude, you’re not wanted!

But until Ted was egged, I’d never heard of him.

    1. In fact the National Party refuses to contest or support local elections in the reasonable belief that there shouldn’t be party politics at the local level. Part of the job of local government is to local government is to address local issues, sometimes in conflict with the central government. The result is that they’ve basically gifted local government to Labour.

      1. Come now Andrew, the Nats aren’t that principled, because they’re backing the beige on grey Viv Beck for more of the same lost in space vanillaness we’ve put up with under Goff.

And what is Citizens and Ratepayers aka Communities and Residents if that ain’t National backed?

      2. Well thats exactly the opposite of what Leo said, he backed by National. National may say they don’t support local elections but it has to be said what they say and do has been proven to be the opposite.

    2. Oh the right of me National party man/children who appear to be sabbotage your oppostion in any way you can.

On the letft of me woke cancel culture who egg their right wing opponants (no I don’t approve of egging anyone, ever).

Both juvenile and pathetic. Please don’t give 16 year olds the vote

    1. he’ll spend the first year banging his head against a wall cause he will have no control over the CCOs, then will spend the next two years helping his mates rort the system.

  2. By and large people don’t care. They want to moan and bitch about how everything is so terrible in their local area or city but that’s their limit of participation. Those standing for election are useless and won’t do a good job, are incapable of doing a good job, but they won’t put themselves up for doing it.

And of course ‘the system’ is stuffed. Nothing gets done promptly, decisions aren’t made and acted on decisively. They want someone who’ll ‘get things done.’ None of this shilly-shallying, they want Action Man or Woman who doesn’t waste time with investigations and consultations and consultants and reports, they want action.

Yes, but that means a dictator, deciding what is to be done and ploughing ruthlessly ahead. But we don’t actually want that, “Why weren’t we consulted? What happened to democracy?”

It’s all so Mike Hosking. He doesn’t want road cones. He doesn’t want road works. He wants better roads. He wants roads being maintained to a high standard. He wants more roads. He doesn’t want construction impeding aspects of life in the city. He doesn’t want clogged roads. He doesn’t want public transport. He doesn’t want bus lanes.

Actually he needs a brain transplant, as do his ardent followers. Trouble is they have no collateral to start with.

Be certain, it doesn’t matter who it is, whoever gets in is assuredly going to be the “worst mayor we’ve ever had.”

    1. To get a brain transplant, Hosking would have to get a brain in the first place.

  3. “the Ecoterrorist admits the egging was originally for Leo Molloy, but on just seeing that morally sanctimonious religious fuckwit stand and deliver, they just had to throw the eggs at him instead”

I do love a ‘man’ of principle!

    Activism today LOL

  4. Prior to unification there were about 6,500 people employed in Auckland regional government including the ARC, and this was thought to be too high. During the amalgamation duplicate roles were identified and the head count fell to approximately 4,500.

Two Labour mayors later and Auckland Council employs over 12,000 people.

We need a mayor with a broadsword to slash and burn!

    1. Where did you get these figures?
My impression of the amalgamation was that they added more layers of management so that no one lost their jobs.

  5. Labour centralising the health system and the water supply, bankrupt NZ, and increase welfare dependence,
because they’re working for the global corporate interests who aim to control everything?

  6. Looking forward to Molloys win, he’ll be an embarrassment, like the rest of his life.
Like Tamaki, it’ll end in a car crash.

    1. He won’t win, but Bradburys’ comments ( bar his effusive dislike of me) are pretty good. I’m tempted to donate to him.

  7. 45% undecided? Wow, I would say the Mayoralty is up for grabs although I guess a lot of the the 45% won’t vote
