Artificial Lack of Intelligence: ACT/National will privatise and open immigration floodgates for property speculators and what does NZ First do?
The sheer scale of crazy right wing bullshit about to be force fed to the country if National and ACT get elected is starting to take shape and sweet Jesus we are several shades of fucked if the Right win in October.
It is clear National have no actual economic policy beyond lifting restrictions for foreign buyers of domestic property and allowing a tsunami of foreign investment to rush in and lift house prices beyond any possible reach for Kiwi first home buyers.
The middle classes with property portfolios all want that and the real easter pimp industry who are pumping millions in donations to National wants it and the foreign speculators want it and seeing as National’s ‘All-our-cows-in-one-Beijing-paddock’ economic strategy has failed, it’s sell-everything-not-nailed-down-and-write-the rest-off-to-Public-Private-Partnerships time.
National is little more than a front for Chinese Business interests and plenty of Chinese Business interests want access to the NZ property market while the domestic real estate pimps and speculators are donating millions to the political Right.

Election 2023: National’s concerning lack of climate policies
The party has announced roughly 30 policies thus far, with Luxon making up in 2023 for a rather policy-light first full year in 2022. So far, however, there is precious little in the way of emissions reductions policy.
The Herald put that allegation that the party was light on climate to the party’s Climate Change spokesman Simon Watts, who said it was a bit “biased” to call National out for a lack of climate policy. He said National was the only party to release an agricultural emissions policy, for example.
There are several shades of wrong with this.
National does have an agricultural emissions policy, but it’s only to to delay the start date at which agriculture will pay an emissions price to 2030, from Labour and the Greens’ date of 2025.
It’s a sort of un-policy – a policy to undo a policy. It won’t reduce emissions.
…Under National emissions will explode while public transport is amputated for never ending roading sprawl with no public transport options included whatsoever.
We are going to have this insane situation where catastrophic climate change is hitting us at the same time as a National/ACT Government are making things environmentally worse!
On a burning planet however NZ will look safer so expect many of the globally panicked middle classes to flee here.
National have no economic plan other than allowing their millionaire mates from overseas buy domestic property here.
That’s it.
At some point you are all going to have to acknowledge this.
What will be most interesting is NZ First’s response to this. Because National is so desperate, they MUST remove the foreign buyers ban which puts them in direct conflict with Winston who has built his political career on being anti-immigration.
Is this the issue that Labour can reach across and get supply and confidence from Winston on if part of the political deal is keeping the Māori Party from any influence?
Our relationship with China may well be the real issue in the background influencing this election without it ever being acknowledged for fear of where the debate would go.

What a ridiculous answer Frank. Martyn points out that National has nothing other than the above and your answer is “they started it”. So you do acknowledge it because it’s starring you in the face but you are so tribal you almost say National has no choice. Utter bollocks. After October you will happily acknowledge that inflation and crime has gone up globally because the whole model is flawed but at present it’s to better say it’s all some left thing. No Frank National do have choices they just choose to represent the few. Don’t blame Labour for National choosing this path. That’s a cop out.

Short memory. John Keys National opened up the gates to immigration – like it got to a point of 70,000 a year twice near the end of his run. That is what f—ed NZ up creating enormous housing shortages , especially in Akl and over loading our health services and our infrastructure generally. Labour inherited a mess in the making and Covid struck. If you think it good that NZers continue to loose their homes and land and their ability to engage in private enterprise to giant corporations and world power ( globilisation ) and the international wealthy you obviously do not have much heritage already invested in NZ.

Any NZ political party that offers to reduce immigration seems to get into power in NZ.
Labour and NZ First said they would take immigration down to 10,000 – 15,000, to get them into power from National 6 years ago. Never happened. Instead they got hundreds of thousands of temporary workers and students into NZ, many of whom never left. They just fudged the numbers but now most people are pretty aware of the scams.
Tired of NZ being one of the highest mass immigration countries in the world per capita, especially when it seems to taking in millions of new citizens over the last decades (from 3 million to 5 million) who increasingly seem to need welfare and social services on top of all the crims here who need the same!Who do Labour and Greens seem to want to give taxes to, Gangs and migrants. Who do they want to get it from, NZ workers!
Labour’s priority of first home buyers. Yeah nah. In my neck of the woods there is a shit load of statehouse being completed and more being started. Good job. In other parts of the city there are heaps of private three story apartment blocks coming on line which would go untennanted if more migrants weren’t let in.
