  1. Knowledge is power so I do not understand why anyone would turn down the opportunity to learn and avoid a possible cultural mistake that could lose you a sale.
The rules of any association need to be followed you cannot pick and choose even if you disagree with them.

    1. Her choice, Trevor, her choice. We need more people with the guts to stand up for what they think is right. If she loses a sale for doing so, more kudos to her.

    1. Trev have you had an epiphany!! This is the most sense you have ever made, good on you for thinking this through.

      1. Thank you . Christian racists are the worst kind of people and do not represent real believers.

  3. I’ve been required to take a similar course as part of my CPD, along with the obligatory police and criminal records check. The course itself is not as this winger paints it, an attempt to convert one to the “maori religion” it just helps with understanding of maori culture. As for this woman’s “christian” faith, forbidding her to do the course, I’m fairly sure that she has an understanding of feng shui for when she’s selling property to a Chinese buyer.

  4. The misguided court decision will ultimately be overridden by legislation to stop this sort of behaviour.
REINZ is well known to be corrupt and so need to lose their standing in law.

  5. In my employment I have been obliged to take all sorts of courses. Some were more useful than others but I learned something from all of them. They also gave me a chance to meet all kinds of interesting people.
Some remain in contact for years afterwards.
One especially useful one was a business course where the woman running it advised business owners to delay paying tradespeople, suppliers, contractors for as long as possible, or (Trump style ) find a pretext for not paying them at all.*
This gave me useful insight into the previously unknown world of business arseholes.
*She applied this in her own business and it backfired on her when her reputation for late and evaded payments spread and she was effectively blacklisted.

  6. Martyn, for the sake of clarity/accuracy, the Real Estate Authority is not an industry body. It is a Crown entity, an independent government regulator.

The industry membership body for real estate agents is REINZ, the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand. REINZ used to do the licensing and regulation, (industry self-regulation) but the law was changed in 2009 to establish a more independent system for consumer complaints etc than agents self-regulation.

  8. ‘That’s difficult to believe’

‘She applied this in her own business and it backfired on her when her reputation for late and evaded payments spread and she was effectively blacklisted.’

Also take a look at how often your hero Trump aka Captain Bonespurs avoids paying his contractors.

‘The strategy has left some small business owners who have done jobs for him over three decades of real estate deals saying they have felt cheated and don’t want to ever work for him again. In a number of cases they have also faced big legal bills from subsequent court action.’

  9. Why is she refered to as white? It’s such an insulting way to talk about Person .

  10. The course will help the real estate agent learn more about the stolen Māori land they’re selling
