Down 420points! That’s a stoners irony! 3.11% down – one of the largest single day drops since Covid! No American…

The damage this graph is causing TVNZs journalism brand now we now the Government are the editors is enormous… Mediawatch:…

Trump’s escalation with Iran risks destabilising the Middle East and sending oil to $150 a barrel. What that could mean for New Zealand fuel prices and global instability.

Bad week to be a National, ACT, NZF redneck climate denier. Turns out the ‘socialist hoax’ is actually happening far…

Look. Winston is playing to the worst angels of our nature and is drawing voter support from the sub 5%…
Listening to Hoskings I feel my decision not to waste my time with the NZ MSM is full vindicated.
The problem with Mike is, that suffers from an acute over inflated ego. Likely resulting from the blood rush due to his penchant for wearing balls crusher jeans.
Hosking’s is just another hollow log that Nasty natz have engineered ro run our MSDM.
Their time will end when the message gets overused as usual so spin on Jonkeys and your used by date will come quicker.
Hosking is a complete tool. I’m looking forward to some serious schadenfreude when the inevitable bitter divorce occurs between him and his vacuous blonde spouse.
The clip is classic Hosking. Some might draw the conclusion from it that he can’t help himself coming across as a smartarse scumbag.
If he’s going to raise immigration do it in the context of house prices, or the impact on interest rates and the exchange rate hurting the tradables sector. Not chefs. Ex-Reserve Bank’s Mike Reddell:
“And then there are population choices. When migration works well, it usually complements economic success that was already underway. Rapid population growth, all else equal, tends to put upward pressure on a country’s real exchange rate – it involves a high demand for non-tradables, putting upward pressure on non-tradables prices relative to those of tradables (set globally). Norway’s population growth rate has increased quite a bit in the last decade, but over the full period since 1970, here is the chart showing the ratio of New Zealand’s population to that of Norway…
Our population has grown faster than that of Norway almost entirely because successive National and Labour governments have chosen to bring so many non-New Zealanders into the country (more than offsetting the upsurge in those leaving, mainly for Australia). Doing so has helped impede the sort of the sustained downward adjustment in the real exchange rate one would have expected if governments had simply stayed out of the way. It has made even harder for New Zealand to turn around the decades of economic decline.”

Makes you wonder if Mike Hosking is running the country and John Key is his puppet
He wouldn’t be the first. I remember a few years ago taking Larry Williams to task on the same station for doing exactly the same thing with Helen Clark – making a prolonged and sneering rejoinder only after the interview was over.
The last refuge of the partisan “journalist” after failing to nail his subject.
he’ll never get into Govt. if he keeps allowing himself to be railroaded like that.
Little wasn’t railroaded at all. He spoke the facts of the issues, correcting Hosking many times and it was Hosking, in his usual style, misrepresenting Little’s answers at his end summary to which Little had no right of reply.
I know Hosking doesn’t claim to be a journalist and that’s clear – I just wish for once, he’d be honest about it and say outright that he’s simply a National Government propagandist.
