Nicola Willis asks public servants for their ‘best and boldest ideas’
Finance Minister Nicola Willis has implored public servants to bring bold new ideas to the table, while acknowledging the government was “asking a lot” of them at an “unsettling” time.
She also used her address to the Institute of Public Administration to foreshadow a “radical” shake-up of how the government contracts social services.
Willis’ speech comes as the coalition is driving a major cost-cutting exercise across the public service, axing thousands of jobs and initiatives.

So pay the public service workers below the average wage, all the consultant d hourly rate s and they will give you all the great ideas you need.
The rank and file workers have opted for an easy life. There aren’t many ideas past the weekend.
They have taken all their great ideas off shore where they are very well paid now for those ideas .
It’s proven that rank and file workers have the best ideas and choose the life they live not an easy life as some absolutely nobody suggests.

So why did Willis not ask the service for ideas in the first week of November?
I have a sneaking feeling they would not have suggested cutting 10,000 jobs.
Its like dumping the blame and the problem on those who have been bashed.
What happens if the members say “our suggestion is you reinstate all 10,000 of the jobs you cut”.
Will she then say “thats a great idea I will reinstate all the jobs next week”?.
As with the coalition of crap her days are numbered.
