  1. The Judge in the gang patch case mentions the role of abuse in state care in creating the gangs and recognises tikanga is part of New Zealand law.
Does it mean this stroppy member of the judiciary thinks he know better than police and politicians?

The defendant was walking down a street in the bustling metropolis of Taumarunui where all his neighbours could see and be terrorised by his gang patch. Masses of people were affected.
(presumably nobody in this town would know him and that he was a gang member but for his patch).
The police force of this major population hub were vigilant and seized the miscreant before he could further terrorise people( nice to know they have the time to cruise around looking for gang members).
Not for them the sissy option of saying ,’ you are not allowed to wear that in public. Go home and change’ or even (gasp) ignoring it.
The citizens of Taumaranui can sleep well at nights knowing they are securely protected from seeing a gang patch by local police who have their priorities right.
The soppy liberal who lives next door has the nerve to suggest that checking to see if people are wearing gang patches can be seen as harassment by police. As if that ever happens!
