    Those heady nights of your youth, full of optimism,ideals and opportunity,standing around fires conversing about things that mattered.

  2. Bertrand Russell thought that the world’s best hope of avoiding nuclear annihilation would be world government. Notwithstanding the faults, of which he was well aware, of the Soviet system of government, he believed that a government imposed by Russia would be the best bet. At the time such an opinion was not really credible but, these days, given America’s decadence, I think he may have been right.

    Though, of course, it is global warming rather than nuclear annihilation that is the problem these days.

  3. es that was about 1965-69 when the peace movement washed over my 17 to 21st year of my life when we thought we could jion with peaceful counties we regarded as trustworthy.

    But we sat in our 1947 Humber 10 on the Napier beach on that Friday night, with a half gallon flagon of cheap port wine, always thinking about what lay up there in that star filled sky and were there martians out there.

    We were soon to be inducted into the NZ Army as ‘National servicemen preparing for the Vietnam war.

    How much the world has lost it’s peaceful mind today with skirmishes everywhere now.

    A one world government raises more worries than solutions as we don’t have any way to govern them if they are allowed all powers to assume control of us all.

  4. The united nations needs to unit and get with the program .Save the planet . not having any dealings with Any country not getting on Board including the united states. The whole world needs to get with the peace movement now . well yesterday actually . the planet cannot afford the heat and the waste .

    no good arguing about it pushing your own barrows . no more time to

    say its all bullshit . cause its not .

    A hitler or a Stalin is not going to save the planet .
