Trump is utterly out of his depth — and the chaos around the Strait of Hormuz proves it. One minute he’s declaring it open, the next Iran is calling his bluff and the world is left staring at a geopolitical mess spiralling towards something far worse.
Watching the madness of the weekend where Trump claimed the Strait was open, only for Iran to reject that claim 24 hours later.
The Strait is still closed and Trump is now back to threatening war crimes again.
This is not rational.
This isn’t strategy — it’s reckless brinkmanship
This is fucking insane!
He either pays Iran for compensation, removes all economic sanctions and accepts Iran controls the Strait OR he nukes the entire Iranian coastline.
So how insane is he?
And the world is paying the price
We are all paying a price for a needless war that Trump and Israel started that has been empowered by our Governments refusal to criticise them.
This isn’t strength. It’s volatility with nuclear consequences — and the rest of us are stuck paying for it.
How insane? No limits to Trump’s insanity. What’s even more insane are the circumstances – and people – that have enabled the madness. But let’s not get too righteous. When in recorded human history has there not been chaos and quite frankly powerful and dangerous people stirring the pot? The difference now – but ushered in with the conflcts of the early and mid 20th Century – is that we’re all interconnected, part of a globalised world of trade and trade-offs, and even more dependent on gasoline, diesel and fossil fuel derivatives. What does chaos theory say? A butterfly flaps its wings in a narrow inland sea and on the other side of the world there are thunderstorms.
Anyone who still believes Trump is ‘sane’ shouldn’t get out of bed in the morning! He is stark, staring, raving mad so should be treated as such. Why is much of the world kowtowing to this maniacal, unhinged lunatic? He is not rational, he has simply become demented with his ego and power. He is holding the world to ransom so has to go – the sooner the better. So Luxon if you think he is sane then take a long look at your own self-deluded beliefs as you are well on the way to the same fate!
