  1. Good article Chris, right on the money, pun intended. I can’t help thinking this will be just another round in the Rednecks vs The Rest of us. The conservatism in this country is infuriating. I fear the number of torys are large enough to stop this and as usual the non voting young people may stay home, once again giving the old people what THEY want. I hope not. I’d like to see how this would go, with the freedom to smoke the weed within the rules, not to mention buying it legally in the first place would be a great idea for the people who partake. Bring it on. Cannabis is not as bad as the torys say it is. Go for it everyone!

  2. Is it going to make NZ a better place for the majority of people who live work and play without the need of an artificial stimulant .
Are the roads and workplace going to be safer .Are partners and children going to be better of financially or physically.
From my dealing with families under the care of Banardos the answer is no. Why does this government think it can improve on other countries that have gone down this path.
.Medical marajuana is fine and certainly has a place in the welfare of the sick.

  3. If there is an huge escalation in pot smoking and there are zombies everywhere, behind the wheel, at work, family time etc etc, then I would agree that is most undesirable, don’t want it. The end. However, can you be absoulutly certain that’s what will happen, or are you simply running scared from new ideas and denying other people a happy lifestyle. I think those who abstain now will continue to do so, and maybe a smallish increase in the population may start up, but not a major increase and also if rules are adhered too, driving, working etc shouldn’t be unduly effected. Same as alcohol really.

  4. Finally gotten off their backsides, about time. That said we should have had a referendum for the TPPA too and the RCEP but I wont hold my breath.

Will certainly say yes to this but who knows what it will mean in practice. Based on past experience I don’t trust this govt any more than the last one.
