Damn right. The majority of people are decent and do not want other people to suffer needlessly.
I hate to be the history bore but when the first Labour government came to power they also had many switch voters who had abandoned conservatism.
As other people have observed on this blog, socialists in parliament pushed a cnservative Labour cabinet into a comprehensive welfare state.
The important thing to note is that voters accepted it enthusiastically.
I believe they would happily do so again.
Pull finger Jacinda – do the decent thing.
