  2. So they expect banks to lend my savings to a petrol seller that will go broke .Then it will be some other loss making donner group .Then they will be surprised when the banks pack up and leave the country.

    But, the NZFirst bill looks to stipulate that people can’t be denied service for ‘non-commercial’ reasons. Here are some recent examples of ‘de-banking’ or ‘banking issues’ for noncommercial reasons.

    Canadian truckers protest.
    Wikileaks.
    Kiwi medical cannabis business.
    Kiwi journalist deemed a hacker by the police.
    Maori denied mortgages because maori as a group deemed high credit risk.
