  2. I am relieved, for the moment, but wait for the bit sell off of some media operations to overseas investors now, they cannot be bothered, that is NZME and Fairfax, to cling to their operations, as they need money, that advertisers no longer pay in required amounts.

    So it is all moving on, towards web based services, and alternatives, but that is nothing to celebrate either, given Fakebook and Google and others are taking over, while they gather all our browsing and other info on the way.

    Sadly, that so much praised young generation Zero is the dumbest generation there ever was, they were trusting their gen X and baby boomer parents, and trust anybody, have lost it long ago, and now trust in Orwellian conditions for a society. They are and will be the biggest losers, not just because of not affording property, they are too dumb or ignorant to realise, they are selling their privacy, souls and more, and immigrants will do the hard and difficult work for them as the silver spoon has not enabled them to work the hard life.

      If these criminal enterprise get back in they will allow he merger, you and I know this instinctively.

  3. yep a great result, and rather unexpected given the weaselly track record of the commission

    I already use RNZ as a main news source and that will be the next big media battleground, increasing RNZ funding and conditions for staff there
