  1. Notice how Labour has moved Ardern and Mahuta well out of the public view for the duration of the election? It’s an implicit recognition of just how toxic they are to Labour’s image.

    1. Notice how Nats keep bringing John Key, Paula Bennett and Steven Joyce out like little old puppets.
At least Labour don’t feel the need to live in the past.

    1. The Love Child of Richard Prebble and Ruth Richardson could be our next Deputy PM then Rat ???

  2. 32%? In complete defiance of the past 15 polls? Only if the vote is rigged will they get into the 30’s. Otherwise getting above 25 will be seen as a miracle.

Its not a grudge vote, you vote for Labour on its record and it’s record is terrible. Worse is it is the complete opposite of the “most transparent open government”. Its secretive maorification is going to continue and secretive agendas are absolutely to be avoided. Division and dysfunction sum up Labour.

This government has to go. NZ is in a hole, and this lot are a good part of it.

How short our political memories are. Polls in 2020 underestimated the Labour and Greens vote by at least 4% each, and overestimated the National and ACT vote by about the same. What makes you think this election is any different? Bugger the polls.

Besides, a week is a long time in politics and there are still about 4 of those between now and election day. Plenty of time for people to have a look at policy.nz or take the quiz at TVNZ.co.nz/votecompass and see which parties really represent what they want for the country.

  3. The union s do a good job and it’s a sad reflection on the professional mangerial class that they are needed at all.

What time of owner or manager would not want to look after staff. Happy staff = increased productivity.

  4. The left need to have a hard look at themselves for the result that we are certain to get on October 14.

Kiwis are sick of the majority of what the modern woke left stand for. Add in the abuse you get on social media and the snobby, chardonnay socialists that have taken the party away from its roots as the workers party. And what do you expect?

I’m a proud leftie, but we’ve gone way too far.

  5. So if landlords are getting a $250 a fortnight tax break then it’s only natural rents will drop right?
That has been the right wing argument after all.

Let’s see if tennants reap what the right sow with that argument

  7. This election is already over, bar the shouting.

The result is a foregone conclusion.

The Right and the Far Right are on the march all over the world. It is no different here.

Jacinda Ardern administration that led us through the pandemic was rewarded by the vast majority of the voting public with a historic first ever super majority.

However the loud screaming of the Far Right and the violent ‘paid’ protesters that besieged parliament. Intimidated and cowed us into believing that the majority did not support the Ardern administration’s public health measures.

    https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/463253/parliament-protest-questions-remain-on-source-of-donations-and-where-they-went

There has been a tectonic shift in this country’s politics toward the Right.

It started with the soft Far Right coup which drove Jacinda Ardern from office. The Nats, ACT, NZF are just benefiting from the fall out.

Around the world the rise of the militarists, the revival of Nationalism, the rise of the revanchists, and the rise of the Right and Far Right globally, are frog marching us toward the preparations and launching of another major inter-imperialist war for a redivision of the world.

The task for progressives and Leftists in the new year, is to build a united front movement to defeat the Right where ever and when ever we can.

    1. The majority did support Ardern & her Government, hence the unprecedented majority in 2020. The constant lack of delivery & general failure soured it from there and now here we are

    2. unfortunately Pat – people were willing to proggressive change a go but Labour failed to deliver, so now the big of end of town are going to get their go. It’ll swing back again when the dearth on the Left is mirrored by a dearth on the right. I’m an anarchist or a communist (depends on the time of day)- anything that tears down this “big government” and returns power to the people, for the people, by the people – this 18th century “civilised” system of obeyance is for cucks
