  1. Alas, the red right hand of the oligarchy that controls the world stains and burns us as we are shepherded toward the coming of
    Thanatos.

  3. Bomber, wish your other columnists could see the Putin versus Western oligarchy as it is, a no win for the Left. There are other lessons that the Left could benefit from. .

A biblical lesson might be appropriate. The Pharaoh in the Moses story had granaries to withstand famine (not enough but the lesson is that you keep a reserve). In the case of famines just in time delivery is useless. Current governments worldwide are culpable of a lack of foresight.

Another lesson is dont back Nazis. Russia won’t, neither should we. Andrew Little in his report on the Christchurch mosque noted that the shooter had spent time with and was influenced by the ideology of the Ukrainian neo Nazis. Yet we in NZ back a regime that is deeply marred by this same ideological excrescence. Not a position any Leftists should be happy with.

  5. Our society is to soft to handle what U are talking about here.

No really what are all those soft handed burocrats or there office bound cronies down on the Terrace going to do when food runs out. Their salaries are not worth their salt if there is nothing to buy. They will run around with there hands in the air if the supermarkets don’t stock their finest food lol. Don’t ask these people to hunt, fish, forage or grow anything cause that would be a great joke to see. Self sufficiency will become important soon the way the world is going.

  6. The commodification of food is a major problem…?

Actually, that’s just the symptom. The problem is capitalism and greed that insists that there is no limit to growth. That we can all be rich and drive our Lear jets to work.

The above problem has created nations that export limited and dwindling resources and import food to feed their populace but can’t feed that populace without that importation. This will always result in those nations succumbing to famine.
