Luxon’s State of the Nation more Incremental and timid than Labour – if that is even possible

Jesus wept, when a National Party speech can be more incremental than this one picture from Labour…

All wrong with Labour in one photo of mediocrity

…you know shit just got real.

Luxon’s underwhelming nothing of a speech reminded everyone what a joke a leader he is and how National stand for nothing, nothing all.

Itโ€™s been two years of Chris Luxon as Prime Minister and those 24 months have become a measure of how far we have fallen as a country and as a people.

He told parents companioning about appalling School Lunches to make their kids a marmite sandwich.

He shrugged and asserted he was rich and he was sorted when asked how his policies would impact the poor.

He profited from changing laws on capital gains.

He has allowed a level of outright racism to infest all legislation to appease rednecks in ACT and NZF.

Hey oversaw the Treaty Principles referendum that has created lasting social tension.

He has led an attacks on Beneficiaries, his policies created homelessness, his mishandling of the economy has seen 5.3% unemployment and 72 000 flee to Australia.

Public Services are crumbling and this war on the Environment is genuinely terrifyingโ€ฆ

Luxonโ€™s War on Nature Timeline

When the Luxon-led coalition took office nearly two years ago, its war on nature started within days of taking office. In that time, the government has made a bewildering number of changes leading to environmental harm. Greenpeace Aotearoa Executive Director Russel Norman has undertaken the gargantuan task of tracking them all.

โ€ฆDr Norman lists the extremes with which Luxon has ย denigrated the environment for wealthy National Party Donor Interests.

Luxon became Leader of National, not because he was the best, but because Judith Collins had her flunkies spitefully back him after Simon Bridges took her out as leader.

Luxon was a revenge selection by Judith.

His CEO experience has given him no tools for dealing with Winston and Seymour, both who have played him like a fiddle.

His much vaunted deal making skills have been shown up to be a joke and his total lack of leadership makes weakness look frail.

He has all the charm of a road accident and his CEO KPI speak is as wooden as a wooden C3-PO.

The banality of the man as leader is a fitting tribute to a passionless people focused on cow udders, rugby and alcoholism denial.

Luxon is the emotionally repressed Prime Minister we need for country in desperate need of a cultural and political enema.

His State of the Nation addressed none of that and the current economic path won’t work as Bernard Hickey points out

The problem for Luxon is his Government is relying on a 1990s and mid-2000s strategy of businesses and households stepping forward to spend their savings and borrow more to invest and spend in shops, car dealerships and in the housing market. Back then, the private sector replaced the Governmentโ€™s stimulus because spenders were younger and less-indebted, interest rates were cut by more, and businesses used to borrow from banks to expand. Neither have done that since 2019.

…after 2 years National have nothing to show the people other than crony capitalism and culture war revenge fantasies masquerading as social policy.

The most telling part of this meaningless dribble is that he didn’t announce the election date, that tells us they aren’t sure when the ‘economic’ recovery is happening and will jump the second they think they have an advantage.

Luxon is a no where near man going no where fast.
