Ummmmm.
It’s all a bit much eh?
Green Party candidate Tania Waikato turns Hobson’s Pledge political attack into campaign funding
New Green Party candidate Tania Waikato has turned an online political slam from Hobson’s Pledge into branded t-shirts and caps to fund her campaign for the 2026 elections.
The post on Facebook calls Waikato a “Witch-Hunter General” of schools that “haven’t pledged allegiance to the treaty”, referring to the Rārangi Rangatira list she created of schools that will continue to give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Hobson’s Pledge seems to have quite the obsession with Tania don’t they?
They purposely mis-interpreted comments she made about punching David Seymour in the face as a legitimate threat of violence in a manner that was totally bad faith.
They then invoked ‘witch’ as an insult which seems a tad medieval, which is funny when you remember that Hobson’s Pledge are mostly made up of culture war boomer religious fruit cakes who subscribe to The Platform, Reality Check Radio and Chris Trotter’s blog.
Hobson’s Pledge seem to get very hot and bothered over Tania and it’s a bit creepy.
BTW can we just start referring to Hobson’s Pledge as Honky’s Pledge?
I ask because it would really put these Hobson’s Pledge nutters into a tizz, and I kinda think they deserve it.
NZ is such a laid back culture, Hobson’s Pledge is as close as we get to the KKK, so they deserve all they get.
Hobson’s Pledge have a unique relationship with Māori. During the election, they couldn’t find any actual Māori friends to use in their anti-Māori wards Billboard campaign yet they have made inroads with Right Wing Māori Social Influencers.

Indigenous culture’s everywhere have a shared experience of generational trauma alongside low education outcomes and high social poverty, and Māori are no different.
Include cosmology and mysticism, Māori like all indigenous cultures wounded by colonisation are open to cultural manipulations that manifest in unexpected ways.
Consider the hysteria over Māori anti-vaxxer Billy Te Kahika.
There is now a new generation of Right Wing Social Media Influencers doused in toxic conspiracy claims that parrot Hobsons’ Pledge talking points about ‘Elite Māori’.
70% of the Māori population are under the age of 40, their vehicle for comprehension is social media and these Toxic Right Wing Social Media Influencers are currency in their understanding of the world around them.
The threat their Tikanga Grift pose’s wider Māoridom can’t be under appreciated, especially with the enormous cut backs in funding for Māori media.
That’s why Hobson’s Pledge attack Tania, because her identity can be manipulated into a threat against white privilege while they Shepard Right Wing Māori Influencers because they say anti-Maori rhetoric that older white people love.
Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

Honky’s Pledge is a settler-type twisted mob of enablers who are coming to the end of their nasty wasteful lives so will simply disappear – the sooner the better. What a collosal waste of time, effort and money promoting their ugly RACISM and actually believing they are “superior” in any way to our indigenous people! Clearly Tania Waikato is being targeted since she is another intelligent Maori. So keep on making fools of yourselves you insignificant creeps, as NZ is not interested in your false dogma. BYE BYE!
We worshippers of the Great, Red Bellied, Fire Snake are excited at the prospect of having a real witch hunter in parliament.
When her powers show the coalition are true servants of Satan under the direction of Warlock Wizard Seymour ( the Evil one of Epsom) and the false prophet Luxon(the Beast of Botany) along with handmaidens of evil Willis, Van Velden, Costello, et al we volunteer our services, our pitchforks and burning torches as the furious, frenzied mob that jeers and mocks as we drag them to stake and fire.
Should the blessed witch hunter grant us this indulgence we offer her our children as her disciples, tributes of money and goods and rich feasting at our tables.
To say “ Honky’s Pledge.” Is that not racist?
No its what’s used to polish boardroom tables
