Gaza‘s death, injury and sickness totals continue to rise

Totals since 7 October 2023: killed 70,365 – wounded 171,058
Since dawn, gunfire, shelling and air strikes have continued over almost the whole of Gaza. Five more people have been killed and 11 more wounded. The total number now killed in Gaza, since 7 October 2023, amounts to at least 70,365. The total wounded is now at least 171,058. The daily average number of men, women and children killed in Gaza is at least 88 and, that of those injured, is more than 215. A UN report states that, as of 14 January 2025, around 70% of those killed in Gaza were women and children.

Disease and famine have taken hold as Israel blocks the flow of food and medical aid into the territory. Several international human rights organisations have determined that Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.
Alongside the human casualties and the destruction of homes and infrastructure, the war has brought the widespread destruction of arable land. Agriculture comprised 32% of land use in Gaza before 7 October 2023. Read more . . .

Israeli Army attack – 1 wounded: Ramallah – 22:00, Israeli forces, firing live ammunition raided the city of Al-Bireh, opening fire on a private vehicle and wounding a Palestinian resident.
Israeli Army attack – refugee camp: Jenin – Israeli Occupation forces, firing live ammunition, continued their storming of the city and the refugee camp.
Israeli Army attack – 1 youngster wounded: Jenin – 20:45, Israeli forces, firing live ammunition, raided the town of Burqin, wounding a 15-year-old boy: Yazid Saeed Ali Khalouf.
Israeli Army attack – home invasions: Tulkarem – the Israeli Army, firing live ammunition and tear gas canisters, continued to storm the city as well as the Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps, invading and occupying homes, touse as military posts.
Israeli Army attack – 2 killed: Qalqiliya – 20:45, Israeli troops opened fire, near the northern entrance to Azzun, targeting a vehicle carrying three people, killing two of them: 19-year-old Mu’ayyad Nidal Abu Riyash and Bara’ Bilal Issa Qablan (aged 21). The Israeli military used explosives to destroy the vehicle.
Israeli Army attack – 1 wounded: Hebron – 22:50, the Israeli military opened fire, from the Annexation Wall towards people trying to get to work near the town of Beit Hanina, wounding and hospitalising one person: Radwan Abdul Rahman Mahmoud Odeh.
Home invasion: Jerusalem – 02:50, Israeli Occupation forces raided the town of Biddu and searched a house.
Home invasion and robbery: Hebron – 03:00, Israeli forces raided the town of Yatta and searched several homes, seizing cash and gold jewellery from one home.
Israeli police and settlers’ mosque violation: Jerusalem – 13:25, Israeli Occupation forces prevented an Al-Aqsa Mosque preacher, Sheikh Muhammad Sarandah, from attending at the funeral prayer and burial of his wife .

Israeli Army violence – child and youth beaten and injured: morning, Israeli troops, in the Plain area of Deir al-Hatab village, severely beat a 12-year-old boy, Musa Khalid Awad Musa, and his 17-year-old brother, Muhammad. Both were hospitalised.
