Labour – 33.3
National – 30.2
Greens – 9.2
NZF – 9.1
ACT – 8.6
MP – 3.3
When even the tainted Taxpayers’ Union Poll (Curia is not in the professional Pollsters standards collective) is saying Labour are beating National, you know shit just got real.
It’s all margin of error stuff right now but the trend is for Labour on the up.
No surprises that Māori Party have fallen over or that Labour took from the Greens for their targeted Capital Gains Tax.
There’s no way I believe ACT are that high when they are invisible.
The rumour mill however are all now leaning towards a National Party leadership spill.
Much plotting was done at Jim Bolger’s recent funeral which is ironic.
The phone calls are happening and the numbers are being taken.
The National Party factions realise 3 things.
1 – It has to be Luxon and Nicola Willis who go because it is Nicola’s insane economic direction that is killing them and Luxon’s wooden performance that its drowning them.
2 – It can’t be Erica because the National Party Mandarins know that we know.
3 – The compromise line up is Bishop as Finance with Louise Upston as leader.
With National now pushing a policy as overwhelmingly negative as Asset sales and with ACT losing their gun nuts, all Labour need to do is appear half rational.
This is a terrible Poll for the right to limp into the election year with.
Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

Bishop and Upston sounds disastrous to me if that is the best I would hate to see the worst.
No matter the combo, they can’t make a silk purse out of a sour’s ear…
Such a paucity of talent resulting in a pathetic choice of candidates…ACT are just as bad terrible, immoral and clueless, and the good ones that used to be in N.Z. First have gone.
They are done…they don’t have a clue… but unfortunately the damage runs deep and is significant.
At least Labour and the Greens are deep, critical thinking adults who talk with maturity….
The adults need to be back in charge!…Pronto
But the coalition is still ahead … how is that possible? The economy is till no-where close to a recovery – who isn’t feeling it?
DNA National Party voters will go under with the sinking ship on top of them rather than vote any other way.. they are that stupid , delusional and brainwashed…to list just a few examples…
– 90% of farmers
– 90% of Chinese who now make up 20% of the overall population
-75% of ‘business’ people who fancy themselves as the real ‘movers and shakers’ of the world.
-80% of people whose parents always voted for National
-100% of real estate agents
-100% of landlords + ‘mums and dads’ ‘investors’ who thought they would make ‘big fast tax free money’ on leveraging their mortgage to purchase a 2nd ‘investment property’.
100% of the banks executive teams
100% of Epsom, Herne Bay, Mission Bay,Takapuna, Milford, Fendalton etc
etc etc
You get the picture…
Many did vote Labour in 2020 and where did that get them ? Up shit creek
‘Many did vote Labour in 2020 and where did that get them ? Up shit creek’
So where are we now Trevor? Still up shit creek or down the dunny?
(This is the bit where you say,,Just wait for another six months and things will turn around…As you said this time last year…And in the 1990s when Ruth Richardson was buggering us all).
Up shit creek???…And what do you call a 5.4% unemployment rate…. not counting the 207 kiwis leaving for Australia every day… .. and a negative growth, rate with possibly a surplus being hit by 2031 …
…As opposed to Labour leaving with a 3.4 % unemployment rate and being on track to hit surplus by mid 2027 …
Whose up shit creek without a paddle???…
Ditto
Bishop and Upston is really scraping the bottom of the pork barrel.
Even Judith Collins and Andrew Bayly would be a better option. Judith is Minister of Space, so can really take us places we never have been to before. And she has good cultural and business connections to China.
The worst Bayly ever did was shoot his twin brother.
Unless Brownlee decides to make a move and elbows his way through the back door.
Don’t you know who I am.
Upston doesn’t scream leader material to me. If Luxon is wooden, (and he is), she is about as exciting as a compost bin. Certainly not much there on the independent creative thought front, same as Luxon. Lobbyists and donors will like her though as she will follow directions, but is that a winning formula?
Louise Upston as leader could even see Labour win another MMP election with a majority
When you add the figurescup the Right still beats the Left so nothing to worry about in these figures .
Thinks are tough and have been for the last year and despite that the Right still lead so it is wishful thinking that the captain is about to be replaced as all politicians know this is a dangerous path to go down.
What already is the skeleton in Erica’s closet?
Wondering…..maybe go to reddit and ask the question? AI might know
Yup tried AI and reddit – getting nothing.
Are we sure no one on here can at provide some substance to this or is this all just a red herring?
It doesn’t matter who the head honcho is. The brand and polices are toxic. They can’t fix or solve any of the problems we have without putting the boot into many long suffering Kiwis and are responsible for austerity they imposed while announcing were broke but give massive tax relief to those who don’t need it.
The status quo of free market capitalism that every party in parliament promises to continue has destroyed our country but no one is offering an alternative to the current narrative.
Bishop as new leader and Stanford as deputy with support from ACT and NZF would romp home.
Try it and see what happens…give us all a laugh.. bwwwaaaaahhhhhhaaahh
Bishop & Upston, though no doubt representative of the level of discourse in the Gnat caucus, bring to mind the knights of Monty Python’s Holy Grail, who demand a shrubbery. They won’t get one with Bishop & Upston – only a thicket. The neighbour has a German shepherd that is smarter than either of them, and much less misanthropic.
Sorry but I despair of these polls. I just CAN’T believe there are actually human-beings out there still voting for the weak, lack-lustre, fake Luxon or for that matter National? What on earth has Hipkins done to warrant such nastiness? Yes, it has been a “hate-fest” from the Right, Hosking’s trolls and bias from Media, but really – ARE PEOPLE THAT STUPID? Hipkins is a much smarter and kinder politician/person than the ghastly, egotistical Luxon. After the CoC’s latest gaffs Labour should be streets ahead. Beats the hell out of me!
I blame the sausage rolls, meat pies, captains calls and weak sauce
Looking at the numbers, nobody’s going nowhere without Winston.
Meh…EVERY poll over last 2 years has Labour needing maori party.
This coalition will win easily next year, there will be no single maori party, but perhaps 2 fractures ones.
And if Labour woo Winnie, Chippie will have to go.
Nahhhh the left have no chance, maybe 2029!
We see you on your knees with Judith and the tooth fairy praying out loud every night for your wish to come true
” nahhh the left have no chance ”
This from the guy who wrote on here Mamdami couldn’t win the mayoralty of New York.
Enough said.
I wanted Madmani to win Kiwi Cracker, I wanted USA to see what socialism does….I estimate NY will be almost bankrupt by 2028/2029.
Make no mistake, his winning is a great advertisement for the political right, the quick killing of a city!
2029 = New York – the new Detroit
” I wanted Madmani to win Kiwi Cracker ”
Selective memory. You would make a great member of the current government.
Labour have nothing good to offer except the CGT. They’re only cracking 30% because (1) a lot of people are currently doing it tough, and (2) Luxon and Willis are so devoid of charisma.
That comment must have taken some deep thought you and trev must drink at the same pub eh
A concise but very accurate summary.
I’d do it if they asked. Seriously. I know about fixing foundations. No experience, but I’d know how.
