  1. Maori have to believe in themselves, and like women trying to rise and take charge without clear understandings of sociology and history, can never think a wrong thing. It’s like the Jews in Israel really, the same Jungian shadow passes over and cuts out the true light of perception and resignation that being human is fallible. Instead, aiming to put the bad of the past in boxes for reference, start off with a clean table, notepads, and pencils and list what has to be done that will be least hurtful and most useful. Such as stepping down for a while when we get too hoity-toity, (whatever that is in Maori, would someone edify us please.) That’s where true mana lies.

  2. This is a song about two ways of doing things, just little differences that have been allowed to become large and distorting of the real desires. And able to be overcome with forbearance and maintaining the eyes on the goal – navigating round the reefs!
