Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog,  3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.

All in all, TDB gives punters a very, very, very wide space to comment in but we won’t bother with out right lies or gleeful malice. We leave that to the Herald comment section.

EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist abuse, homophobic abuse, racist abuse, anti-muslim abuse, transphobic abuse, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird Bullshit about the UN taking over the world  and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

    Our job is not done

Now that the ceasefire is in place, global civil society must demand three minimum requirments are met.

20 Aug 2025 — It is lined with hundreds of trucks laden with aid bound for Gaza, but largely lying dormant as Israel continues to allow just a trickle of humanitarian access through the Rafah crossing….

Thousands of Injured Children in Gaza Need Urgent Medical Evacuation
    September 17, 2025
    Sarah Ferguson and Tong Su
    Est. Reading Time: 4 mins
…..With most of Gaza’s hospitals in ruins, thousands of children critically injured in the conflict are waiting for permission to be medically evacuated. UNICEF is calling on the international community to do everything in their power to allow Palestinian children to travel so they can access the emergency lifesaving care they need to survive.
#2 The second civil society demand, evacuation of the wounded children

Israeli spokesperson after spokesperson come on our TV screens and devices to claim that the reason Israel prevents foreign investigative journalists and war crimes investigators, from entering Gaza is for their own safety in an active war zone.
Now that the ceasefire has taken hold, this excuse is no longer valid.
WATCH: Israeli UN Envoy Grilled on Gaza, “Why No Journalists in Gaza?”
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGWCwEyxvpQ
Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, is directly asked: “Why won’t Israel allow international journalists into Gaza?” His answer @1:18 minutes: “You know, when you bring journalists into a war zone, you don’t want to see any casualties. God forbid.”
“That is the reasoning, we don’t want to see casualties of journalists traveling inside Gaza. It’s a war zone.” @1:48 minutes: “The main concern for us, is that journalists might get killed in a war zone. It’s an active war zone today.”

The Rafah crossing must be opened for the passage foreign investigative reporters and war crimes investigators into Gaza, to begin recording and uncovering the mass graves, interview witnesses, to provide the world with the urgent and vitally needed accurate and objective account of the scale of the genocide.
We can’t bring back the dead, but we can bring them justice.

  2. In the meantime our local elections closed today 11/10 at noon. Was it a farce, a
comedy, a tragedy, interactive or improv theatre?

  3. Interesting headline:
    https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/on-the-inside/575543/europe-worries-it-s-already-at-war-and-america-hasn-t-noticed
,,,Drone sightings, which closed mainland European airports and led to NATO jets being scrambled, exposed Europe’s lack of readiness after decades of strategic slumber and cast doubt on whether governments weakened by populist uproar can muster the political will to rearm.

And there’s never been more uncertainty about the strength of US security guarantees to NATO partners. President Donald Trump claims, ad nauseam, that the Ukraine war would never have begun had he been president. But the new alarm is on his watch. Has his ambivalence toward the Western alliance, confusion about his red lines, and psychodrama of flattery and rejection with President Vladimir Putin opened the way to dangerous Russian adventuresome?…

But Polish Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski drew an analogy for American viewers. “Every sovereign country has the right to deal with intruders,” he told CNN’s Fareed Zakaria. “You wouldn’t tolerate Cuban MiGs over Florida.”

Poland was shocked when multiple Russian drones entered its airspace last month. US defence officials were unsure whether this was deliberate. It hardly mattered, since this was one of the worst-ever intrusions into NATO territory.

Notions of a mere mistake were undermined by subsequent events. Copenhagen International Airport had to be shut twice in a week after mystery drone sightings, with Russia suspected. Denmark is a major support of Ukraine. Flights at Oslo Airport in Norway were suspended for a short time last month and again this week after drone sightings. Munich Airport closed twice last week for the same reason. On 19 September, NATO jets intercepted three Russian jets that violated the airspace of alliance member Estonia….
t looks very much like it is Russian. And they have a lot of reasons to want to do this,” said Kirsten Fontenrose, president of Red Six Solutions, which provides US-government-approved technical expertise on combating drones. “You’re testing the limits of NATO countries’ commitment to one another,” Fontenrose told Becky Anderson on CNN International. ..
