Since dawn, Israeli air strikes, missile–launches and gunfire on homes, as well as medical and other facilities, have resulted in 87 people killed and 409 wounded. Civil Defence crews retrieved twomore bodies from underneath bomb-damaged property, bringing the total number now killed in Gaza, since 7 October 2023, to at least 64,522. The total wounded is now at least 163,096. The daily average number of men, women and children killed in Gaza is at least 91 and, that of those injured, is more than 232. A UN report states that, as of 14 January 2025, around 70% of those killed in Gaza were women and children.

Deliberate starvation is one of the methods Israel is using as part of the genocide it is committing in the Gaza Strip. In our new report, “Total blockade and death traps”, we describe the system Israel has created to starve Gaza’s residents. It includes destroying means of food production, preventing food from entering, undermining existing aid systems and creating deadly conditions for obtaining food. With every passing day, the hunger in Gaza deepens, and more people, including children, die from causes related to hunger and malnutrition. As of 4 September, 370 people have died from hunger, including 131 children.
West Bank
Since 24:00 on 7 October 2023, Israeli Occupation forces have been imposing complete closure of the West Bank, preventing residents and other permit–holders from entering or leaving. The Israeli military also imposes severe and highly variable travel restrictions on all residents.
