Tough day for Zionist apologists, it’s official – Israel is committing Genocide

Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, says scholars’ association

The world’s leading genocide scholars’ association has passed a resolution saying that the legal criteria have been met to establish Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.

Eighty-six percent of those who voted among the 500-member International Association of Genocide Scholars backed the resolution, which declares: “Israel’s policies and actions in Gaza meet the legal definition of genocide in Article II of the United Nations Convention for the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (1948)”.

There was no immediate response from the Israeli foreign ministry.

…to date Zionist apologists have played this game of semantics, attacking the use of the term Genocide to describe the disproportionate war crimes they have committed and incredulously claiming anyone using the term Genocide to describe what they are doing is anti-semitic because since the Holocaust, that’s ‘their’ word.

Well, that game is up.

86% of the 500-member International Association of Genocide Scholars have voted, what Israel is doing amounts to Genocide.

We must never allow the Israeli people to forget this moment of horror.

They, a people who know bigotry and hate have now become the hateful bigot.

The abused has become the abuser.

All the Holocaust has taught the Israeli people is how to commit the same obscene group punishments.

Now is the time for action.

“If the New Zealand government was serious, it would implement this list”:

  1. Back the call from UN Special Rapporteur for the OPT, Francesca Albanese for military protection for aid convoys to enter Gaza.
  2. Close the Israeli embassy in Wellington
  3. End trade and investment ties with Israel
  4. Deny entry visas for all Israeli Defence Forces personnel
  1. Introduce legislation to sanction Israel the same as the Russia Sanctions Act
  2. Cease approval for Rakon to export crystal oscillators which may be used by the Israeli military for targeting Gaza and other Israeli assault zones
  3. Ban all Rocket Lab launches of satellites used for Israeli reconnaissance over Gaza
  4. Suspend all bilateral agreements with Israel; movie co-production, overflight agreement and technological cooperation
  5. Stop remittances going to Israel, such as funds for the racist Jewish National Fund
  6. Cut scientific, academic, sport and cultural ties with the State of Israel
  7. Sell all New Zealand’s Superfund investments in Israeli companies
  8. Vote to suspend Israeli membership of the United Nations for not withdrawing from all the Occupied Palestinian Territory
  9. Cease approving Israeli munitions transporter ZIM Shipping using our ports
  10. Join the case against Israeli genocide in the International Court of Justice
  11. Sign onto the Hague Group of countries working to ensure Israel complies with International Law  https://thehaguegroup.org/home/

  1. Francesca Albanese has been sanctioned by the US state department for her undying moral support for the Indigenous Palestinians she is an iconic figure in the UN for her stance against apartheid Israel genocidal behavior.

    Free Palestine

  2. Wonderful – but how come it has taken the world so long to reach this fair and logical conclusion? So now, will the genocide supporters take a good look at their cruel, heartless comments/actions? Somehow I think not. Whatever happened to compassion, empathy and kindness? Now lets’ enjoy watching Winston dig himself out of the corner he has climbed into. And Martyn, your 15 point ‘Action List’ has to be implemented by NZ NOW. Free Palestine!

  3. Do read “I Shall Not Hate” by Izzeldin Abuelaish, a Gaza Doctor’s journey on the road to peace and dignity. He now lives with his remaining children in Canada having lost three daughters and a niece from a supposedly “accidental shelling!” in 2009 in Palestine. He literally had to pick up their limbs from the floor. Israel’s excuse was pathetic, and so damn typical! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Shall_Not_Hate

    • Nah, that sounds like nonsense. Serious human beings hate inhuman monsters like the zionists. They must simply be comprehensively dealt with, forever.

  4. “If the New Zealand government was serious, it would implement this list” Martyn Bradbury

Our government will not do any of the things on this list untill they too recognise that this is genocide.

It will be hard to get the government to recognist that this is genocide while our biggest opposition party doesn’t recognise that this is genocide.

  5. * Water is wet.
    * Trees are made of wood.
    * The sun is hot.
    * Israel is perpetrating a genocide.
    * The Coalition has a spine made of jelly and a broken moral compass.

    • The Labour Party’s broken compass, pointing in the same direction as the government’s broken compass, convinces the government that they must be on the right heading. Both are confirming each other’s bias and don’t realise that they are both headed for the rocks.

Hey Chris, is your compass the same as mine?
      Yes Chris it is.
      Phew! that’s a relief.
For a minute there I thought there might be something wrong with mine.

  6. These are weasel words that will worm out of one side of our coalition government mealy mouths:

“We are looking at a range of options”

And that will be end of their “actions”.

    Such weird, traitorous losers.

Please let’s vote these shameless dicks out.

  7. I would not say official.

    The following from the BBC

    They are quoted saying

The IAGS say “their resolution has no bearing on any case put forward to an international court”.

A number of leading rights organisations, including two Israeli organisations, have also declared they believe Israel is committing genocide.

The UN and a number of Western nations have said that they will only consider a ruling by a court that genocide is taking place as authoritative.

The UN’s top court, the International Court of Justice, is currently considering a case brought by South Africa in 2023 that argues that Israel is committing genocide.

The ICJ has not yet made a determination on the subject and has granted Israel an extension until January 2026 to present its defence.

    • We all know the moral West is dragging its feet in defense of Israel buying time. Soon the question of is it a genocide will become it WAS a genocide. Move along.

      • That was the way it went from about March 2nd (Trump as POTUS), a clear departure from the ICJ directive.

Collective punishment of civilians to pressure the release of hostages was one thing, but actual starvation by the end of summer and then launching a military operation on top of that through the winter to Jan 2026 (the famine and required movement will leave many vulnerable to death by exhaustion/flu/covid/and infection).

Will a defence then be possible in Jan 2026?

Instead of Trump getting a peace prize he will be seen as the one presiding over all of this and the one being asked to protect the perpetrators from ICJ (and UN) consequences.

“….The UN and a number of Western nations have said that they will only consider a ruling by a court that genocide is taking place as authoritative.”

Hi SPC, as we have already discussed this is also the stated ‘position’ of the New Zealand Labour party.

But Labour’s ‘position’ has less to do with facts and more to do with morality.

Labour’s stated ‘position’ on the genocide in Gaza reminds me of Erwin Schrödinger’s famous thought experiment.

Except in this case the lid of the box is wide open for all to see.

Schrodinger asked us to imagine a cat sealed in a box with the lid firmly shut so that we could not see inside to determine whether the cat was dead or alive.

    Schrodinger’s genocide.

The Labour party askes us to imagine a much bigger box containing not a dead or alive cat but a genocide, or not a genocide.

The Labour Party also asks us to imagine that we can’t see inside this box.

The Labour Party claim that the ongoing genocide in Gaza is sealed in a legal box that we can’t see into and the genocide will only be revealed when the lid of thet box is opened. (sometime long after the genocide is completed)

Meanwhile anyone with a connected deivice or smartphone can see into this allegedly sealed box.

    The Labour Party’s unwillingness to peer into this box and make their own determination speaks to a deep lack of moral courage. A lack of moral courage summeed up by Labour Party MP Damien O’Connor, who said this in parliament;

“No person with any ounce of moral courage can see this as anything but horrific, nothing more than a genocide.”

In a shockingly arrogant and incredibly patronising and disengenuas statment, Labour’s leader Chris Hipkins slapped down Damien O’Connor; “Damien O’Connor is incredibly passionate about this issue and that was evident during his contribution today. I respect the emotion and feeling he showed during the debate.”

But it was not about emotion Chris, it was about fact, a fact you are too cowardly to address. Instead cowardly criticising the emotional delivery rather than the fact being raised.

Chris Hipkins went on to say; “…. the Labour Party’s position remains that it is for the relevant international bodies to determine whether actions by Israel are within the constraints of international law.”

I am beginning to realise that the Lbour party’s self interest.and political laziness, and immorality and cowardness in not challenging the political establishment complicity in this genocide, has the potential to reshape the New Zealand political landscape.

    • The issue being by the time there is clear evidence of a genocide it has not been prevented.

The guilty can then only be prosecuted (barring super power protection*).

One of the directives to Israel in Jan 2024 by the ICJ was supply of aid etc. They have been in breach since March 2 2025. Under POTUS 47*, Israel has been ignoring the ICJ.

One wonders whether they will make a defence to the ICJ in Jan 2026.

      • Good Grief!

        SPC September 3, 2025 At 9:48 am
“The issue being by the time there is clear evidence of a genocide it has not been prevented….”

        Really?

SPC do you really believe that there is no ‘clear evidence of a genocide’?

Do you still really believe that?

Eighty-six percent of those who voted among the 500-member International Association of Genocide Scholars whose life’s work is studying genocide have determined that Israel is committing genocide. Do really expect us to believe that Christopher Luxon, Winston Peters, Chris Hipkin, Lynn Prentice and you, are right and the overwhelming majority of genocide scholars are wrong?

I have asked you several times if you still deny that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. From your lack of answering my question I had sorta guessed that you were still a genocide denier.
And your above comment confirms it.

          • I’ll have to be clearer

I think you mean well, as per cause activism.

But I have to conclude there will always be a communication problem.

A problem with being fair and honest.

            So good luck.

  9. Tough day for Zionist apologists,” Martyn Bradbury

Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, says scholars’ association
The world’s leading genocide scholars’ association has passed a resolution saying that the legal criteria have been met to establish Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.

But you will not hear anything about this world breaking news from the Labour Party or read any commentary about it on their political mouthpiece ‘The Standard’

    https://thestandard.org.nz/

    SILENCE IS COMPLIANCE

Martyn is right. Yes it is a tough day for Zionist apologists, The Standard Labour Party authors will have their work cut out trying to avoid any comment on this world breaking news, and no doubt censor and ban anyone who dares mention their silence.

    • Still zero, and I mean absolutely zero mention at The Standard of the The world’s leading genocide scholars’ association passing a resolution saying that the legal criteria have been met to establish Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.
The editorial line of the author and owner of the site is exactly the same as the Labour Party’s position, which is that it is not a genocide until the International courts say it is. Which of course will be when it is all safely over.

      Lynn Prentice

      To Pat O’Dea

The internationally agreed legal definition of genocide is, ‘The destruction of a people in whole or in part”

In your opinion, Lynn do you think that the definition is wrong?

Yes it is wrong. And what the fuck! You quoted part of the preface to article II of the Genocide convention. It is not the whole. While I realize that may be the limits of your capability to understand, the definition and requirements are more specific.

I would really like to know, and if possible your reasoning behind this denial.

FFS: You are effectively calling a accusation as a convicted crime. Querying that an accusation is applicable isn’t ‘denial’, it is a statement of fact……
…… I, the ICC and ICJ, and any rational person who believes in the rule of law would all ‘deny’ that genocide has been proven in Gaza. There has been no trial on the accusation, now significant evidence presented to prove or disprove as case, nor a judgement, nor a conviction.

Since Lynn Prentice admits to denying the genocide in Gaza, it is not surprising that The Standard is silent over the findings of the Association of Genocide scholars, since it contradicts the Labour Party position.

But what is surprising to me is there is not even any mention by any of the commenters in The Standard open mike, it’s like they know when to self censor.
