I think then it would be a goer. And further it would be good for Hone Harawira to make a point about the lack of habilitation in prisons and displacement of workers by government choice. Denis O’Reilly might have something to say about it. If the prisoners started sewing and selling these caps, charitable Kiwis would buy them and it would be a positive thing for everyone. A lot of money could come forward from encouraging people to help make them, and provide for those leaving prison to have good halfway houses. And all the time there would be positive things going round about Aotearoa, Maori and ‘pulling yourself up by your bootstraps’ sort of thing. Marama Davidson could come on board and show herself to be a kapai Maori and not embittered about poor relations between men and women. She could be a Maori Jacinda, step into Celia Lashlie’s shoes, and be a role model against sexism; for something else than personal gratification.
