…Social media algorithms have allowed for a toxicity of debate that is easily manipulated. A symphony of sweaty truths all screaming for attention and no one listening. Woke Identity Politics activists have seized the joy of having no gatekeepers to express how much they hate white men while alt right Incel Nazi’s have seized upon the joy of having no gatekeepers to express how much they hate everyone else.
Millennial woke culture sees macro violence coming from micro aggressions and piously police those micro aggressions with virtue signalling purity mantras.
Alt Right Incel Nazis see white persecution and create some bullshit replacement narrative to justify their powerlessness and feed that resentment online.
Most people are on social media and most people have a woke activist or Qanon fanatic in their social media feed screaming their feverish truths. While these activists certainly think they are speaking truth to power by endlessly calling people out for breaches of woke mantra or fake news anti Trump lies, to everyone else they are simply toxic.
People stop seeing the political party and only see the activist and in the end proxification means the activist becomes the proxy representation of the Party, and seeing as people have negative feelings towards the proxy, they turn from the Party.
Voters aren’t voting on policy, they are voting on who made them feel resentful on social media!
The political is the personal now means what hurts me personally becomes political.
Before social media activists could only face each other off at protests or through letters to the editor or talkback radio. There were constraints of interaction but with social media there are none and it turns out the freedom to insult and dehumanise others is more addictive than nicotine, alcohol and meth combined.
Wokeness has become a puritanical religion with none of the beauty – it’s not so much the personal virtue signal, we are all dicks at times, it’s the weaponization by algorithms that make it so dangerous and damaging.
The danger of identity politics is that it locks people intellectually into only defining the world through their skin colour, genitalia or sexual orientation – it also becomes toxically subjective and tribal where the only solidarity is with other people who share the skin colour or genitalia or sexual orientation- without shared truths and values, the 1% and their 9% enablers continue to divide the rest of us 90%.
The Left has lurched into woke ‘Social Justice’ territory which alienates more than it attracts.
Beneficiaries and working class people care less about pronouns and the correct pronunciation of te Reo than they do about how to pay next weeks rent and power bill!

I’m not interested in social justice wokedom any more, it is a minefield of competing schisms throwing vitriol at one another.
Twitter outrage is woke righteousness porn for the middle classes. A puritanical razoring where the self elected morality police publicly shame and cancel anyone for not using the language protocols of the conclave.

Not being angry doesn’t mean staying silent. Not being angry is about tone, presentation and self-control – the content can be the same, but the delivery is different.
Are you suggesting restraint, rather than just reaction – restraint not just righteous rage and horrified blame.? Be strategic in your emotion. Joan of Arc got burnt at the stake, better if she could have made a hit, a palpable hit, and lived to return to add some salt to the wound. But one hard hit has put you out the door kitty. You are outside mewing; one scratch won’t find its way past their satisfied complacency. You don’t expect Gisborne cockroaches to do much good, but they just look off-putting, might have gifts. Politicians are all dressed tidy, wearing a ‘business’ uniform; that doesn’t mean a thing, they probably exhausted themselves by the time their tie is knotted.
Greens can do nothing for us all out there needing wise pollies, if they don’t work on their own wisdom and include restraint and thought about tactics. If you are going to be in politics you have to dirty yourself with tactics. It’s not a place for flights of emotion and wishful thinking of the lion lying down with the lamb – religious fantasies or similar.

It is about directing the anger. I am regularly angry with our politicians, the useless Hipkins – no one knows what they will actual return to us and you can be sure lots of the things these shits who are in power have done will not be reversed by Labour when they get in. ‘Oh we did not know the state of the books its worse than we realised. SHUT UP and make it all possible. Because we all know it is. I am in favour of MPs salaries being tied to the living wage frankly if that means they have to o to the op shop to get their suits then good job. Of course they can have tree travel to enable them to do their job and it stops when they stop being an MP. Fancy being able to go on holiday, not just them but their spouses as well to the UK for about 1/3 of what the plebs have to pay, outrageous stuff.
I want politicians to be out after 3 or 4 terms, that is enough, why would they get a job for life. They can work harder for the majority. Not the fat cats.
Ooooh dear the quality of MPs won’t be as good. Well if anyone out there thinks we have quality now they are dreaming. People go into politics in the main for money and the prestige of the job. You might sit as a back bencher for years never disagreeing with anything your party is doing because that will be a black mark against your name and you are unlikely should you continue to ever become a minister.
I want the Greens and Te Pati Maori to up the anti. They need to have lots of people in to gain lots of negotiation power.
And for that daily anger, I go on protests, I write to politicians and I sign petitions on a very regular basis. The wrecking of our environment, poverty, lack of affordable housing, people living on the street, Climate Change, endless insults to Maori and their kaupapa and te reo, the lack of affordable good food, the cost of health care to ordinary kiwis, the lack of dental care for the poorest, problems with our fire service, our disappearing public hospitals, our appalling pay rates to nurses and teachers, locking up people for stupid reasons…… it goes on and on and we need to know what Labour will do about all of this. Spend more money on the airforce, the army, the navy. Start being a peace nation. We need a serious change to our tax structure. If that means the greedies leave then good job, most of them actually like what our lifestyle here gives. Start by getting back to the rates those earning lots of dosh paid forty years ago, poor darlings it won’t stop them sending their kids to private schools. Get a financial transactions tax, start means testing super (yes I am on it and if that means I get less well so be it) I get tired of the mantra ‘I worked hard for what i have got. .. Have death duties again, lots of countries still have these things.
Can we please start doing something about the rivers in Canterbury because of what the farmers get away with give us here ewe have the highest rate of colon cancer in the WORLD! Does anybody care – do farmers living here get cancer, do their kids get cancer. Stop it now, stop the bloody pollution NOW. Stop the endless super phosphate that poisons so many of our vegetables.
Stop locking people or giving them home detention many of them could be working in their community that is really what justice looks like, giving back. Imagine all those people working on my local river…
The only people who should be locked up are paedophiles, murderers, rapists, don’t all these people really have serious mental health issues. But we must treat them humanely, work with them to make their own food. Stop the bullshit punishments, do the crime do the time,what nonsense, I wasn’t dragged up like some of these people were and that absolutely needs to be kept in mind at every sentence.
Not one politician should be elected who hasn’t done unpaid work in grass roots organisations looking for real change, licked stamps done the mahi. Then we will see who is really up for the job.
