Former National Party MP Anthony ‘Aussie’ Malcolm likely sexually abused children – police review

Former National Party Cabinet minister Aussie Malcolm likely engaged in coercive and/or criminal sexual conduct with “multiple young boys”, a police review reveals.

Anthony ‘Aussie’ Malcolm died in September last year aged 83. Following his death it was revealed there had been at least three police investigations into alleged sexual abuse.

Police then launched a review of historical complaints in relation to Malcolm. A summary of the review was released to RNZ on Monday under the Official Information Act.

The document says a review was initiated following referrals from the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in State Care concerning historical sexual assault allegations against Malcolm.

Allegations spanned from 1992 to 2018 and involved multiple complainants, all male and underage at the time of the alleged incidents.

This acknowledgement follows the allegations that there was a group of police and senior politicians protecting and participating in a political pedophile ring…

Revealed: The 1992 police inquiry into ‘paedophile’ politicians and public servants and what it found

  • The Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in Care reported “deeply suspicious” allegations of politicians and public servants preying on children;
  • The Herald has obtained a police inquiry report from 1992 in which similar allegations were probed;
  • Minister of Police John Banks – an abuse survivor himself – says he would not have stood by while children were being hurt.

The allegations are alarming – that senior politicians and public servants in the 1980s carried out organised abuse of children in care.

And then, using their influence, it was claimed they avoided – and continue to avoid – accountability decades later.

Those were the claims made to the Royal Commission into Abuse in Care which, remarkably, reported on the allegations as “deeply suspicious” but lacking “direct evidence”.

This could all be a lie and some grift by a disgruntled journalist, but there was more evidence of these allegations beyond what was reported in the newspapers at the time.

That evidence sits inside the testimonies of state abuse survivors and gagged by restraining orders once settlement is agreed.

Their stores tell of coordinated abuse at the hands of the powerful, those stories will never get told.

If there was an organised ring of public servants, police and politicians abusing children in state care, then it would have been classified a state secret and no possibility of finding anything via OIA.

However, we do have glimpses of monsters and those monsters have left a trail…

Corporate titan Ron Brierley sentenced to 14 months in prison for possessing child sexual abuse images

Ron Brierley has been jailed for possessing child sexual abuse images.

The 84-year-old former knight and famed corporate raider in New Zealand and Australia was sentenced today in Sydney to 14 months’ prison after pleading guilty to possessing tens of thousands of child sex abuse images

“Images of this kind are neither innocuous or benign,” Judge Sarah Huggett told the court, noting Brierley had collected images over years.

“For decades he had been an intelligent and high functioning businessman … his offending was not isolated nor aberrant nor something that was only in his later years.”

Brierley initially faced 17 charges before he pleaded guilty earlier this year to three counts of possessing child abuse material earlier this year. The other charges against Brierley were withdrawn.

…to be clear.

I’m not suggesting for one second that Ron Brierley was involved in a high level group of politicians, State Servants and Police to abuse children, what I’m saying is that IF such a group existed, powerful and rich men with a sexual interest in children would have been involved and if one wanted to test that theory, research who Brierley was associated with during the time these allegations were supposed to have happened.

A lot of children were abused in State Care, 250 000, and allegations of children being systematically abused for powerful politicians, public servants and police demands more scrutiny than it has been given.

‘Aussie’ Malcolm is just the tip of the iceberg here.

  1. Pedophile rings always seemed to be in the realm of fantasy, and participants are hardly likely to go public are they?

But when you have the 2IC NZ cop pinged for child and bestiality vids on work devices anything seems possible. Sex trafficking, migrant exploitation it just goes on. There are some bad buggers among us, with wealthy ones having more chance to hide and get away with it.

  2. Hmm. Wasn’t Roger Douglas given a sinecure by Brierley after he finished his work ruining our economy?

Perhaps a quid-pro-quo for his economic destruction, perhaps something else, who could know?

  3. Hang on a minute Mr. Bradbury, you’ve missed the main point here.
What has happened to Aussie Malcolm is an outrage. He has been publicly convicted on the basis of a declaration from the police that he is “likely” guilty. What about due process? What about the presumption of innocence?
Is Malcolm guilty of the crimes alleged against him? I don’t know, but neither does anyone else until his guilt has been established beyond reasonable doubt in a court of law. The State authorities can get away with these gross violations of legal rights when the victim is someone it is easy to dislike or the offenses involved are particularly abhorrent, but if they can do it in such cases, they can do it to anyone.

    • You bring an important value to this discussion, while I don’t want to see the guilty go free, I don’t want to see innocent people convicted either, so people deserve a fair trial and not a lynch mob on the basis of some loose association with improper people.

    • I am the first to point out the NZ Police myopic tendencies-from Arthur Thomas to Scott Watson to Teina Pora they get a person in the frame and they fit them up for a conviction. They can never admit getting it wrong let alone being bent.

But…in the Malcom case there is quite a lineup of complainants that can be further investigated, but it is difficult with a deceased alleged offender.

    • Correct, the police should NEVER pontificate on guilt or otherwise before conviction. The role of the police is to gather and present evidence to a court of law or to the prosecuting body, such as Crown Law. They should only provide public comment on guilt or otherwise when they are asked for such comment in a court of law.

    • And what of Malcolm, Trevor? That’s what the stories about, Malcolm, Bob the first best friend.

      • He is dead and has not been proven guilty of any crime however I am not surprised you find political capital in this situation. . I am not sticking up for the man and if the claims are true it is sad for those involved who deserve justice and compensation if possible.

        • Yet here you are making political capital out of it, hypocrite. He has not been proven guilty you say but yet you say he is dead therefore cannot be proven guilty? No shit Sherlock!
That does not make him innocent

  4. I think Minsc says it best:

“I trust those who prey on children no farther than they can be thrown, even if I manage to throw them pretty far! And throw them I shall!”

Sadly, this applies to the IDF as well as Epstein’s dodgy accomplices.

  5. Martyn Bradbury you have hinted at this before. Why don’t you investigate those associated with Brierley or at least write a piece about something that links his names with others. You seem to be wanting to encourage an investigation and name some names, so it seems you must have some information you can’t repeat. obviously some important ones still ‘out there’. Surely NDA’s preventing abused from reporting abusers would be rendered null and void by the courts. Certainly this latest conviction of the second in command at the police is pretty damming of some pedo culture existing.

  6. Now we all get to worship President pedo the red one.

What a glorious economic system we have that rewards these people.

If you missed the dripping sarcasm, sorry for you.
