New Poll – How NZF uses culture war to get double digits

Latest Taxpayers’ Union is out and while it’s weighted to the Right for dark purposes, it does highlight the power of NZF’s conspiracy swamp electorate now.

National – 33.9

Labour – 31.6

NZF – 9.8

Greens – 9.4

ACT 9.1

Te Pāti Māori 3.5

The reality is that NZF can probably lean into enough support to hit double digits when you consider the sub 5% vote for Anti-Vaxx lunatics.

The banjos are twanging and the Redneck Crackers are dancing. Don’t underestimate the book burning that passes for culture in many parochial corners of NuZilind.

  1. Saying our tattoos are scribbles would have gain winstone a few percent more red neckers votes.

    • There is only 1 poll that counts, and while Martyn constantly points out the poor reasoning of most voters, they have tended to put NZ First down the list when the real choice needs to be made. 18 Months is a long time with the way events are happening now so it’s still an open contest for me. I would like something decent to vote for instead of having to pick the least worst option all the time.

  2. And this on the unemployed. The last year has seen a drop in full time jobs of 45,000 jobs and a rise in part-time jobs of 25,000 – that is a noticeable gap. And will the comfortable be able still to trot out ‘ But there are lots of jobs advertised that they can’t fill.”

When she’s not busy juggling her two part-time jobs in the entertainment industry, Petra Elise is trawling job listings and writing cover letters.
It’s been this way for a few years now, after she was made redundant from her full-time role during the pandemic.
Five years on she hasn’t found a full-time job, now getting by on 24 hours of work a week.

Meanwhile I try to fix problems in my old house and pay the government 15% tax on every $ I spend. It would be laughable if it wasn’t such a serious, stupid move adopted by income tax shy governments. It depresses spending at the wrong end.

More things doing mean more life in the economy and the multiplier effect working. But we are becoming moribund and since educational authorities have brought in mandatory computers and devices and encourage AI then it will only get worse. We aren’t taught to think strategically and rationally, and the importance of good values, like trust, in our community dealings.

  3. None of the polls count for much. At the election people consider whether it’s better to stick with the devil they know. If Labour shuns the extremists, it might have a chance with the Greens who at least think democracy is worth it.

    • If the country votes on the economy the right are out unless National shun ACT, then they have a chance.

  4. The RBNZ is forecasting the NZ economy contracting and potentially going into recession in the next few months. Where is the criticism in the media? The contraction in the building sector last year was unprecedented – 12,000 jobs and 800 business gone in 12 months. Falling house prices, rising cost of living and rising unemployment. And yet – the governing parties are polling well over 50%? WTAF? How are they getting away with it? Would a Labour led coalition get such light-handed treatment with this type of economic outcome?
