The always questionable Curia Poll suggests Labour are ahead of National, which shouldn’t surprise anyone because National have been getting killed with their terrible ideas and way crueller than required social policy.
It is also the economy hurting.
The problem for National is that the economic future remains far more choppy and risk laden than they are pretending.
As the economy continues to hurt, National will face the stark results of their public service cuts.
Labour just has to look stable and their behind the scenes bridge building with the Maori Party has injected a very important political stabilisation that must be adhered to so that people see a Labour/Green/Maori Party Government as the hope they need!
Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

The Coc will be banking on their Māori-hating tactics to keep them in power it worked before why change a working formula?
Curia dont poll in low decile areas so labour may well be further ahead than shown .
Low decile do not vote
they do when their shit is on the line
Labour/Greens/TPM coalition? That’s got to be a hard sell.
Labour do nothing then. Keep Chippy. Then what?
Good question? Does seem impervious to our chipping away at his obdurate stone image and we may find if we do, that there is nothing in there but a hollow easter egg without the chocolate – go figure!
Voters will not want a second dose of buyers remorse so the current abysmal excuse for a govt will be shown the door next election.
National lose votes to Act but the outcome is still a Right Parliament. If voters have not gone to the Left by now what will push them to as economy grows leading up to 2026 election
Economy isn’t growing and women missing out on pay equity will flood to the left.
The same old tired farmers vote is all the right have alongside conspiracy theorists.
Most of those women would have been Labour voters if they voted so there is not much change there.
Personally I would have like to see many of those women get a pay rise but understand that the goal posts had moved.
When farmers do well the whole rural sector does well so their growth is gold to National and long may the good times continue.
So this confirms that this CoC divides the country although the farmer vote is not enough to get national across the line next election.
“Most of those women would have been Labour voters if they voted so there is not much change there.”
Any evidence on that comment because when did you speak for “most women”?
As others have mentioned when a farmers wife is impregnated it comes with a historical blue vote. They have no individual political thought process. As for the good times continuing, they aren’t, that’s simply an uneducated stupid comment unless your one of the kiwis driven to Australia.
From a cafe in Northland…
“I started to see people, especially with the price of food going up, looking in rubbish bins in Kaitāia,” Maryjane said.
“We noticed the pig buckets [used for scraps] had been opened during the night. It had to be humans lifting the lids up.
“We started seeing homelessness around our building.”
Apparently by your definition Trevor, these are good times? FUCK OFF!
“Enlightment” via a change of “heart” (and conscience) is not off the table. Stranger things have occurred during other paradigm shifts, of which the world is currently in the thick of. Happy days!
Less than one percent growth in next 12 months, fact!!!
https://newsroom.co.nz/2025/06/14/nzs-economy-is-not-underperforming-by-accident/
People with intellect dispel your ignorance of NZs economy.
There is nothing wrong with Chippy especially if you compare him with the bald one. I see national are taking praise for things they never did themselves like trade deals etc.
God help us if those mongrel CoC lot get in again everything will be sold, privatised , society more deeply divided, working class kicked in the guts, prisons filled to the brim of our Māori people and the rich will get richer of course.
Good. The better Labour does at the expense of The Greens and the Maori party,* the more chance of convincing more “moderates” to vote for change.
* Providing the greens and the Maori party win at least one electorate seat each
Labour also depends on a lot of Maori voters like me that do not want Winstone in power or Act or National. And the Maori party will win most of the Maori electorates we may see a bigger overhang this time. The Greens need to get their party vote up again and win at least one electorate. I think there is too much scaremongering going on. I believe the Maori party, Greens and Labour can work together for the betterment of our country not just the one percent lot. But the vultures are circling, and they will pull out all the stops.
