National, Labour clash over who’s lying about pay equity changes
The Prime Minister and Opposition leader are in a political feud over who is lying about the overhaul of the pay equity regime.
Last week’s surprise law change raises the threshold for workers to prove they’ve been paid poorly as a result of sex discrimination.
The move will save the government billions of dollars – which would’ve otherwise gone to increased wages.
Labour’s been calling that a pay cut, but National’s Chris Bishop, the party’s attack dog and previous campaign manager, said that’s just not true and the Labour Party has “crossed the line into outright lies”.
Bishop issued a press release ahead of his party’s caucus meeting at Parliament on Tuesday morning accusing Labour of “lying about our changes to pay equity to avoid talking about their own flawed approach”.
The Prime Minister responded to an avalanche of questions on his way to caucus, where he attacked Labour for “resorting to lies and misinformation”.
National are lying through their teeth because they are freaking out at the reaction to their declaration of war on working women.
IT IS A PAY CUT!
The Pay parity legislation was there to push up the wages of ALL workers in industry that was deemed ‘women’s work’, here are the workers we are talking about…

…pretending this isn’t a pay cut when they arguing they are making it to save billions is a simple bare faced lie to you the people and they hope you are stupid enough to believe them!
This impacts up to 500 00 workers and National don’t know how to deal with that other than become Karens and complain they are offended!
National are easily triggered snowflakes now, Nicola Willis is taking more offence at being called a c*** than the social carnage she has unleashed for all those working women she’s kicking in the teeth!
Andrea Vance’s paragraph may well be the greatest ever written in the English language…
“Turns out you can have it all. So long as you’re prepared to be a c*** to the women who birth your kids, school your offspring and wipe the arse of your elderly parents while you stand on their shoulders to earn your six-figure, taxpayer-funded pay packet.”
…to clutch your pearls at the use of the C word when you are taking billions from the pockets of working women?
Fuck off!
National, AVT and NZF deserve all the contempt they are getting, and then some!
This Government have moved to take billions from working women and are pretending they deserve a round of applause for that!
Fuck their pearl clutching and fuck their outrage olympics!
If you don’t want criticism, don’t do cruel things that justify that criticism.
The Right believe they can define a woman, well, turns out they can defund them as well.
What say all you working women?
Would you prefer to be defined or paid properly?
Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

National behaving like cornered dogs.
Which shows why Hipkins’ inclination in the past to be all politeness and reasonableness, admitting to his government’s mistakes and actually holding his ministers to account by sacking them, is an approach to politics that is from a bygone era. National and their partners are rabid, aggressive and will go nuclear from the outset. They will deny, and obfuscate, or even just leave corrupt behaviour unchallenged in plain sight. Things have changed and the left needs to be able to respond.
Yes how about that National minister using her private email address for parliament business.
National screamed like cut cats and hounded Clare Curran until she resigned.
Now do the right thing and resign Erica Stanford.

The absolute last thing we want is the Lying Willis to touch our kiwisaver. Given her lack of financial ability she could simply destroy it.

Time for Brown to go. Hiding information from the taxpayer is a sackable offense. The boy is not old enough to be out of nappies let alone let loose with a sharpie to stop information being seen by the public…
“One risk the unredacted memo showed was the loss of specialist surgeons, anaesthetists and medical imaging technicians from public health to private hospitals. Technicians had already been lost “as the private sector dramatically enhanced salaries to attract staff”.
Privatisation by stealth.
Agreed. Brown has his mantra he keeps repeating it ad nauseam(like his boss).
I almost feel sorry for Reti, sitting nearby in Parliament looking forlorn, still bewildered by his sacking and having to put up with this young whipper-snapper just out of school, mouthing weary and worn platitudes.
Wee Simeon’s just one of such a sorry bunch of misguided misfits….imho
Those poor rich wealthy c**ts
Used to be just slippery c**ts now full of fish hooks and poisonous nicks
Luxon should know, he’s the king of lies and misinformation. The problem for Luxon is David Seymour came out and pretty confirmed it last week. Why would you rush it through under urgency if it wasn’t related to the budget.
