We are doing the mana of our nation a terrible disservice by inflicting the worst elements of poverty upon the most vulnerable.
Research released last week told us that the nutritional needs for our children were half what they should be thanks to the terrible corporate school lunch food we a now giving them.
International guidelines state a lunch should have 30% of our daily nutritional needs, testing on the corporate school lunches found a mere 15%.
Not only is the corporate food cheap and nasty, it is actively helping to make our hungry kids malnutritioned!
In the same week we hear that over half a million kiwis need access to food banks every single month and homelessness activists are sounding the alarm over a spike in those without shelter after the Government tightened emergency housing requirements.
When challenged on these stats the Prime minister provides glib responses like ‘make a marmite sandwich’.
This is why I find talk of economic growth from the Government totally devoid of any credibility.
We have slashed healthy kai for our kids in school, we have slashed public services and we have adopted punitive and counter productive social policy that exacerbates the problems while never solving them and we have done all that so that the Government can afford tax cuts to the wealthiest amongst us.
We deserve a Government with more aroha than this.

Another day in the life of Luxon and his CoC. Remember when those landlord rebates were going to make rents cheaper and tax cuts would help New Zealanders….

Surely if you want to make savings you axe landlord rebates and use that money in health. Common sense really.
And of course the wasted money on the treaty bill, just to appease your coalition partner.

Oh dear, time to sack this arsehole.
