I don’t find anything alt-Right Billionaire James Grenon says about his plans to take over NZME and replace the Board with himself and a hard right polemicist like Crump is legit.
I think he desperately needs to convince the board that his only issue with the Journalism stance is ‘AI clickbait’ and that he doesn’t represent a hard right Culture War hate network.
However his support for an anti-vaxx grifter and a culture war hate blog suggest a totally different motive.
I think he absolutely intends to turn NZME into a hard right culture war jamboree and he doesn’t care if that damages the brand or causes shares to drop because he’ll just buy more.
When you are a billionaire with a radical agenda the cost doesn’t matter, the message does.
We see that with the Wright Family supporting The Platform.
We see it with Musk and Twitter.
We see it with Bezos and The Washington Post.
I’m waiting for this alt-Right Billionaire appointing Cameron Slater, Peter Williams, Sean Plunket and Chantelle Baker to the new Herald Editorial Board.
