‘Gandalf’ accused of selling illegal medicinal cannabis in New Zealand
Outrage over targeting of one of New Zealand’s alleged ‘green fairies’ who provide cheaper medicinal cannabis without prescription
For the middle classes of NZ, medicinal cannabis legalisation has been a godsend.
You can go to the chemist Warehouse and buy in bulk high quality bud to smoke with a prescription that means the cops can’t arrest you.
You can order online, it gets delivered to your home address and it’s super expensive.
Which is all fine and dandy if you are middle class with the dollars, but there is a large underground black market of ‘Green Fairies’ who provide medicinal cannabis to the working classes and beneficiaries who can’t afford the Chemist Warehouse prices.
The Police targeting a well known Green Fairy like Gandalf is a class issue and it should be examined like that because the middle classes with their middle class prices are all fine and dandy, the working classes and the poor however remain criminals in a shadow industry.
We need to regulate a legal recreational market and use the revenues to pay for rehab for serious drugs and alcohol.
This is a class issue to continue criminalising the poor.

I agree 100%
Let’s hope Gandolf gets a similar enlightened judge. His arrest is really shocking especially as he was well known by everyone for the good he does for years, including the police. I blame Jacinda for not supporting M reform when she had the opportunity because now we have this fuck up government and this is what they are doing, arresting people like Gandolf. And you are correct, it’s a class attack because poor people can’t afford prescriptions of dope and aside from that doctors do not have Gandolfs expertise in which strains of dope for specific conditions should be prescribed. He should be given an OBE for the help he has provided and his expert knowledge, not arrested! This is terrible.
