Look, I’ve stopped reading Bryce after his Democracy Project went behind a paywall, he’s kinda like Chris Trotter and Sean Plunkett now in that you are aware they exist, but you’d never willingly listen to them again.
Bryce’s latest attack and insinuation of corruption by the Māori Party and that this amounts to the end of Western Democracy as we know it however demands a response, which has led me regrettably to read his latest post.
Couple of things about his claim that this investigation amounts to the end of Democracy.
The first is that Bryce’s desperate attempt to insinuate the Māori Party are corrupt would be more credible if he was right.
He is not.
I feel he’s been hanging out with Chris Trotter too much and anything Māori touch is now corrupt.
What both reports to date have shown is that it was the desperate public agencies using Māori Community organisations for outreach (outreach those government agencies had cut back on and were now reliant on Community organisations for btw) and in their desperation those Government Agencies didn’t bother putting the correct checks and balances in.
How can the Māori Party be held accountable when the Government Agencies providing the contracts weren’t accountable?
This is about desperate Government Agencies who have no outreach into Māori communities and impoverished communities hiring Community Iwi groups to do that outreach and then screaming corruption because none of these agencies seemed to have any processes put in place because they were so desperate to create the outreach rather than due diligence.
According to Bryce, this is corruption!
This whole inquiry has been a racist witch hunt from the beginning and what Bryce and no other mainstream media will now admit is that this hit job on the Māori Party was organised by Destiny Church, something Bryce and his mainstream media mates won’t mention because of what Destiny did last weekend at Pride.
What makes Bryce’s claims of the end of western civilisation as we know it (because of Māori corruption) is that his Democracy Project is the first to scream that the influence of the Atlas Network is a myth that doesn’t exist.
So hard right international think tanks with deep roots inside NZ = left wing myth.
Accusations of corruption from desperate Government Agencies who didn’t bother with any checks and balances when they signed contracts with Māori community groups = racist corruption that will destroy NZ Democracy.

I can just get the gist from whatever mumblefuck commentary about da Maares that comes from Sean or Chris Trotter.

How does one define corruption when in a corrupt government system? What are the criteria that critics are measuring against? And anyone crying corruption is questionable as to their judgment; whether they are unwise in that they are unthinkingly corrupt themselves. Who are they to fault anyone; where and in what circumstances did they achieve their experience and overview wisdom?
Only a clean out of the Augean stables will leave it smelling just sweet and horsey without any steaming piles of ordure spoiling the fresh air and making one’s eyes water!
Its only corruption if Maori are involved apparently .But we think its ok to push a bill though parliament to allow a large corporation to build 4000 homes on a flood plain in south auckland ,now that corruption
