Even new Roy Morgan Poll shows Government dropping
The Roy Morgan Poll is always considered an outlier and super friendly to the Right, but even they are showing the Government dropping from their December polling:
National 32.5
Labour 28.5
Green 11.5
ACT 9
NZF 8.5
TPM 6.5
I think as the economy tanks, the Government will bleed out.
National borrowed more than Labour, BUT THEY BORROWED FOR TAX CUTS WE COULDNβT AFFORD AND RICH LANDLORD LOOP HOLES!
The idea that the economy is going to magically bounce back after the austerity budget is ludicrous!
They didnβt spend that extra borrowing on public services, in fact they hollowed out those public services so much so itβs all going to predictably collapseβ¦

Treasury officials have warned the Government that βsignificant reformsβ or βreductions to public servicesβ will be needed in the not-too-distant future if it sticks to its current, restricted spending track.
The Herald can reveal that even with this relatively tight spending, the Government will not post a surplus under the traditional Obegal measure until 2031, which will mark the longest period of Government deficits since the 1979-1994 deficits (which were measured quite differently).
Treasury officials also warned that the Government had planned so much capital investment β spending on items like schools, hospitals and roads β that it might have to cut spending earmarked for public services so it can fund the significant ongoing maintenance of those investments.

No boats Willis and now no boats Winston it just gets better every day .By 2029 we would have had the new ferris for 3 years .Now we are looking at 2 small ones and privatizing the whole operation by 2029 at the earliest .At least they now admit that the building needs to happen no matter what size boats they get .I would think the end cost will be $6 billion by 2029 if there is no further blow outs in the economy in that time .
I think this government believes that privatization and Maori bashing are a solution, in the same way that Rome thought gladiators and the circus were.
