When even fan boy Simieon Brown is shocked by what Dad said

I honestly feel that we are a very easily led people sometimes.

National killed off 3 Waters because dark Ag money spent on culture war astroturf organisations had whipped the maintenance of drains up into an existential race war.

‘Da Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeees is stealing da water’ cried the culture war astroturf organisations using Atlas Network social media talking points to drive home the Cambridge Analytics micro targeting to really ferret in there and drag those petty bigotries into the front of the line for political action.

National dumped 3 Waters for these cross burning, banjo twanging, cracker redneck settlers and instead created a new model that saw rates explode in price, which is hilarious because the whole reason Labour had sunk so much political capital into 3 Waters in the first place was to ensure the very predictable water infrastructure costs that were about  to hit people were kept at 2%.

Isn’t it funny how our easily manipulated bigotry made us vote in a system far more expensive than the one Labour had proposed all because we are a nation of stupid rednecks?

I love Luxon screaming about ‘nice to haves’, I suppose as someone who owns 7 properties, he’s getting 7 x rates which is making him and his other multi-property owners cross because he’d just given them all $2.9billion in tax loop holes and having to pay a little bit of that back makes Christopher very sad and very mad and very bad.

The huge jump in your rates is because of water infrastructure…

…water infrastructure that exploded in cost because National dumped Labour’s solution because using Māori as a political punching bag gains votes.

For Luxon to now attack Councils for the cost explosion he has caused for political exploitation is as jaw dropping as the lack ion critical analysis by the mainstream media.

We allow the worst angels of our nature to be so easily manipulated by people who do not have your best interests at heart.

Media have become a bunch of wimps and dont even bother to investigate the lies they are feeding Kiwis every day .Another blog I go on has way more indepth investigation on government releases .Such as the lie about extra funding for breath and drug testing which Brown said he was giving an extra 1.3 billion .In reality that was a blatant lie because the money was redirected from other policing such as moving the speed cameras to wakakotahi and cutting action on family harm and mental health .There never was an extra 1.3 billion alocated in the budget .Smoke and mirrors swallowed by the lazy media .

  2. Let’s not mention the multiple ‘rivers’ of bullshit that are flowing from his mouth over the “energy security crisis”. Hardly any interviewer challenges when the last economical gas find was in NZ. They didn’t stop looking because of no new permits being issued. Another manipulated situation to make bullshit decisions. Luxon and Costello should be living together.

  3. I voted once in 1978 but never again.
    Yes 90% of voters are either dumb,ignorent or prejudice and usually all three.
    Easily led? Absoutely.
    I remember the Kirk 1972 Labour landslide.
    3 years later the dancing Cossacks convinced the voters to vote in dictator Rob.
    Tired of Muldoon the voters turned to a virtual unknown in Lange in 1984.
    Six years later the voters swung back wildly right for Bolger in 1990.
    The same voters lurched to the left voting in Helen in 1999.
    Then the leemings jumped off the cliff again voting in right wing Key in 2008.
    2020 the voters bowed to left wing Queen Jacinda in another landslide.
    Yet the same left wing worshipers returned to their racist home just 3 years later in 2023.
    Are voters really that stupid and easily led.
    Sadly yes.

      Speed limits and safety improvement on roads being stuffed around , deregulation so polluters can carry on their merry way.

      Today’s idiot award goes to Simian for considering upping the speed limit on the Christchurch motorway to increase productivity. What a numbnut, so you can travel 20 or so kms 10 k an faster and that will improve productivity!!!. Given that trucks are only supposed to travel at 90km/ hr whose productivity will increase?

      • Just like the crash on the Southern Motorway with trucks regularly going 110-120kmph in the outside lanes f*****g idiots???

      • Perhaps the truck speed limit could be adjusted for vehicles that aren’t 1950 Fodens? A radical thought.

        • Well on the German Auto bahns they are restricted to 90 kph as is supposed to be the case here .Try driving a 55 ton truck any faster and see how you go at stopping it and getting around the first sharp corner .Had a truck catch fire here the other day because the dumb arse driver just used his brakes going down a very steep hill and the brakes caught fire which is why big rigs change down to low going down such hills and also use engine braking .The driver was a fresh kiwi with no doubt a dubious license .

  6. The spectre in the room is as ever central Govt. not funding local Govt. adequately. All over NZ there are large geographical District and Regional Council areas with low rating bases that will never be able to fund everything that needs doing.

He knows he has fucked up big time and is going to cause massive cost blow out so now he is yelling to deflect the blame onto councils.As usual the majority of councils are piss weak and will roll over and offer to kiss his arse .They should stand as a group and they should stand up to the prick and say NO FUCKI OFF and we will have Maori wards if we want as well .They should hold all GST and other TAX payments till further notice .

Councils have been taken over by the idealistic class not the get things done class hence nothing gets done unless you want to declare a climate emergency etc. we know the planets burning i just want the bloody tap to run with clean drinking water and im sure as fuck 3 waters wouldnt have made a jot of difference to that.

    • small farmer I think councils and all have been taken over by persons who want to get things done – just not what you as a person/citizen need! There isn’t much idealism about it. That’s all candy floss by the middle class who seem to appear to care.

  10. I read a peice by a real investigative jurno this morning about new road policy .He pointed out that all new roads will not have walking or cycle ways .That means no foot paths or shared cycle ways .Just roads for more cars and over weight trucks .

  13. A successful 3 Waters would not have stopped Councils building convention centres and stadiums. The blow outs were always coming. Wellington is the most egregious example of incompetence and waste while the water runs down streets. Great the Council is cocking up Thorndon Quay.

    • Take a trip to Whangarei .The whole down town floods nearly every year now and the sea level is rising but the National arse licking council is doing nothing to mitigate future flooding because the mayor has his head up Rettis arse .

    • The Chch convention centre is doing well with 4600 plus partners this September. The stadium will finish on time and on budget and will also be great for the city.
      Chch has a great water system worth 2 billion which 3 waters would have taken and control past to unelected board 50 %, made up of Maori.
      Rates went up due to inflation and shortages due to covid
