Another week another clash of conflicts from this Hard Right racist climate denying beneficiary bashing Government

Pharmac Minister David Seymour met Act MP Todd Stephenson’s former drug company employer – and the MP sat in on the meeting

    • Act MP Todd Stephenson has investments in three biotech or drug companies – and is Act leader David Seymour’s special Pharmac envoy;
    • Seymour met Stephenson’s former employer in April, two months after the new MP got the Pharmac role;
    • Seymour also met one of the companies in which Stephenson has investments – the new MP was not present for that meeting.

Every single week there’s a new allegation of cosy relationships with donors and the people who then go on to write the regulations for that donors industry!

At this stage it would be easier to just ask, “hands up who isn’t a pimp for big tobacco, big dairy, big sugar, big real estate and big polluter?”.

The problem for National is that they have become so hollowed out of any actual political philosophy they’ve handed all their policy over to lobbyists and those lobbyists are now implementing what their donor masters paid for.

This level of crony capitalism becomes outright corruption with the Fast Track Powers that will give 3 Ministers the power of Muldoon on Meth.

Defenders of this crony capitalism will argue the Left recruit from unions and NGOs and they influence policy which is completely true, but the fundamental difference between the Right and Left is that the Left are altruistic with their aims. Workers rights and better conditions for Renters and the environment are the common good, the Right on the other hand slavishly worship their donor masters profit margins.

The Left’s influences are for the common good, the Right is for the selfish few.

National use small business morality to mask their big business interests.

This Hard Right, racist, climate denying, beneficiary bashing Government just passed a budget where everyone losses and I’m not sure 2 BigMac combos a week are enough to bribe many into ignoring their corruption.

  1. The worst budget in our political history but I did say this would be worse than Ruth Richardson’s mother of all budgets.

  2. Great budget. But again too much given to Maori elite to squander. Should have gone harder.
